Hallmark Channel Spoilers – The Question Isn’t Being Ignored
Hallmark actors potentially joining the Great American Family network has been a hot topic of discussion.
At the 2024 Television Critic Association Summer Press Tour, Hallmark CEO Mike Perry and Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive VP of Programming for Hallmark Media, shared their thoughts on the matter. Perry emphasized, “We focus on our viewers and their preferences, rather than fixating on the competition.
He further explained that when selecting talent, they prioritize individuals who connect with their audience, stating, “It’s all about our viewers. It’s all about our brand image.”
Hamilton Daly also mentioned having an “incredibly talented group of people that we’re thrilled to collaborate with, and we’re totally supportive if they choose to work with other companies as well.”

Perry continued, saying “Currently, we’re not limiting ourselves in that way, and our goal is to bring the best actors to our channel for our projects. Some actors have become very recognizable on the Hallmark Channel, and our audience consistently shows us who they love-we make an effort to bring those actors back for more projects”.
After leaving Hallmark, former CEO Bill Abbott launched Great American Family Channel, which has attracted talent previously seen mostly on Hallmark.
Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, Jen Lilley, Alexa and Carlos Pena Vega, Trevor Donovan, Jessica Lowndes, and Cameron Mathison have all migrated to GAFC.

Several other actors have graced the screen in beloved Great American Family Channel films, including Lori Loughlin and Daniel Lissing who hail from “When Calls The Heart”.
Jesse Metcalfe, Sarah Lind, Chad Michael Murray, Merritt Patterson, Christopher Russell, Jill Wagner, Susie Abromeit, Paul Greene, and Mario Lopez also have appeared.
Lopez recently inked a lucrative deal with the network for multiple movies over several years, with his first project being a heartwarming Christmas film alongside his real-life spouse, Courtney Lopez.
When asked if Hallmark would consider pushing boundaries as Great American Family Channel movies leaned more conservative, both Daly and Perry were questioned.
Daly firmly said no, while Perry stated, “I think we understand the essence of Hallmark, and as long as we stay true to that, we are content with where we stand.”
