Hallmark Channel: A Royal Runaway Romance Stars Philippa Northeast & Brant Daugherty

Hallmark Channel is about to release a new, original movie, A Royal Runaway Romance. The movie stars Philippa Northeast and Brant Daugherty as a princess and bodyguard on a road trip together. Premiering on April 9 on Hallmark Channel, the new original movie A Royal Runaway Romance promises plenty of love and complications. According to Hallmark’s press release, Princess Amelia of Bundbury (Philippa Northeast) is preparing to take over as Queen once her mother Ava (Sarah Jane Redmond) steps down in a year. However, just as she starts prepping, she finds herself falling for Wes (Andre Anthony), an American artist commissioned to paint her royal portrait.

Unfortunately, the Queen makes it clear that she doesn’t think Wes is the right match for Amelia. However, when the artist returns home to Chicago, Amelia comes up with another reason to travel the USA – her Uncle Andreas’ (Vincent Gale) upcoming birthday. It is the perfect plan, except that Andreas’ Beverley Hills home is nowhere near Chicago, and Wes isn’t able to meet her there.

Matters are complicated further when her mother insists on traveling with her. Moreover, she confiscates Amelia’s passport, making a quick flight to Chicago impossible. Even worse, Amelia learns that Grady (Daughtery), Andreas’ trusted bodyguard, is now assigned to stay with her at all times. However, Amelia isn’t easily deterred from her plans to visit Wes and “decides” to “borrow” Grady’s car to drive to Chicago instead.

However, when the handsome bodyguard catches on to her plan, he tells her uncle. However, Andreas does agree to help the princess, on one condition – Grady must go with her. As she heads out with Grady in Andreas’ classic convertible, America-obsessed Amelia gets the cross-country trip she had always dreamed of. Meanwhile, this was perhaps her last chance to be free before assuming the responsibilities of being Queen.

However, along the way, Amelia and Grady open up to each other and find they have more in common and more fun together than either expected. With every state line they cross, both Amelia and Grady will learn that in road trips and romance, the destination is less important than the journey and the person you share it with.

Philippa Northeast plays the role of Princess Amelia and is known for starring in Home and Away and Standing Up for Sunny. Meanwhile, Brant Daugherty, who plays the bodyguard, has been seen in Pretty Little Liars and The Baker’s Son. Vincent Gale who plays the role of Uncle Andreas has starred in Snowpiercer.

Sarah James Redmond plays Queen Ava and is known for her appearance in Siren. As for the artist, Wes, Andre Anthony is in the role and has starred in Riverdale.

A Royal Runaway Romance comes from Crown Media Productions, LLC, with Autumn Federici and Kristoffer McNeeley executive producing. Meanwhile, Rob Lycar, Jamie Goehring, and Shawn Williamson are producers, while David Weaver directs from a script by Jake Helgren.

The new, original movie, A Royal Runaway Romance, premieres on Hallmark Channel on April 9, 2022, as part of the network’s Spring Into Love programming event.
