Early Christmas Planning

Although Christmas is still more than 260 days away, Hallmark is already gearing up for its holiday programming. The network is set to offer an impressive array of festive content, boasting “over 4,000 hours of holiday programming.”

This lineup includes a new partnership with the NFL, the continuation of Sarah Drew’s Christmas-mystery series, Mistletoe Murders, and a limited series featuring the return of Jane Seymour to the network.

What exciting plans does Hallmark have for the upcoming holiday season? Recently, the feel-good network issued a press release for the 2025-2026 Upfronts, following the cancellation of both the Television Critics Association Winter and Summer 2025 tours.

The Network Promises A Thrill For Countdown To Christmas Movie Fans

Christmas movie enthusiasts are in for a treat-the network is set to deliver an impressive 4,000 hours of festive programming this season, marking the 16th anniversary of Countdown To Christmas.

They are once again teaming up with the NFL and Skydance Sports for a new film titled Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. While details about the cast, writers, and director are still under wraps, they will be revealed soon.

This romantic tale, inspired by the love story of Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld, promises to bring a taste of Buffalo, complete with spicy hot wings and exciting cameos.

Additionally, Hallmark has announced that the collaboration will feature fan engagement activities, co-branded merchandise, and extensive promotions across multiple platforms, with more information to come.

The Twelve Dates Of Christmas And Mistletoe Murders

The network has revealed its upcoming project titled The Twelve Dates Of Christmas, although this is a working title and may be subject to change.

The film features Mae Whitman, Mary McDonnell, and Jane Seymour, and is inspired by the novel of the same name by Jenni Bayliss.

Additionally, another exciting project is Mistletoe Murders, which stars and is executive produced by Sarah Drew, who portrays Emily Lane, a Christmas shop owner who investigates local murders.

This intriguing mystery series also includes Peter Mooney and Sierra Marilyn Riley in its cast. Notably, the showrunner is Ken Cuperus, known for his remarkable Audible Original series of the same title; both Season 1 and Season 2 are set to debut on the Hallmark Channel.

Other Holiday Movies Are In The Works

Some of Hallmark’s holiday films for the upcoming season have yet to be revealed-currently in production is A Royal Montana Christmas, helmed by director Peter Benson.

Given that Fiona Gubelmann is an executive producer, it’s reasonable to assume she will have a starring role in this film.

Additionally, there are whispers about other Hallmark Christmas movies slated for 2025, including Newport Christmas, which is expected to feature Ginna Claire Mason and Wes Brown.

Also, A Magical Christmas in New York, and Haul Out The Holly 3, likely starring Lacey Chabert and Wes Brown once more.

How Many Countdown To Christmas Movies Are Planned For 2025?

Hallmark has committed to delivering more than 4,000 hours of holiday programming across its various channels.

So, how many films can we expect in Countdown To Christmas 2025; at this time, the network has yet to reveal that information. A significant portion of the 4,000-plus hours of festive content will undoubtedly be accessible on Hallmark+.
