Hallmark Channel & ESPN Partner Up For Taylor & Travis Romance

Sunday was Christmas Eve and featured a special holiday promo where Hallmark Channel teamed up with ESPN.

The ad was filmed during the 49ers game and what made it truly special (and lots of fun) was that it featured the Hallmark-like romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Read on to find out more about how their relationship made it into the promo.

Taylor Swift and Travel Kelce romance goes Hallmark-like

Swifties know about Taylor Swift’s relationship with Travis all too well and those watching the 49ers game on Sunday were treated to something special. For the occasion, Hallmark Channel teamed up with ESPN for a Hallmark-like holiday promo.

In a video shared on Instagram and X/Twitter, the Hallmark/ESPN promo played on Sunday and this was done by telling a story.

As fans know, there’s nothing quite like Hallmark Channel when it comes to writing stories and revealing heartfelt romance. However, this time, it included the relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Hallmark romance combines with49ers football

Hallmark screenwriter Julie Sherman Wolfe has written 24 Hallmark movies, including this Christmas’s Holiday Hotline. She also wrote the Ryan Paevey and Pascale Hutton football romance movie, Fourth Down and Love.

On Sunday, the 49ers promo, and shared by Wolfe on Instagram, she is seen typing on her computer, while images and plays flashed around her. Julie went on to tell the story she was busy writing, but says, “First of all, you have your leading men, wise givers of advice, quirky best friends.”

In what was for all the world like a classic Hallmark Christmas movie, she continued, saying:

And most importantly, an incredible story. Maybe someone’s in a new town, or starting a new job. And we see the meet-cutes, that spark. You think ‘This is it. This is what we’ve been waiting for.’ And then, something happens that changes everything.

She went on to mention “twists and turns” and “moments of pure joy” while mentioning an “unexpected romance.” At that point, an image of Taylor Swift appears, dressed up in her KC red sweater.

Wolfe then says, “Yes, someone’s heart may get broken, and not everyone gets the big kiss at the end, but the one thing that remains, especially at Christmas, is love,” adding:

And eventually, everyone will have their storybook ending. It is Hallmark, after all.

On her Instagram post, Julie shared that she was “happy to represent @halmarkchannel (and my @49ers!) in today’s ESPN piece.” She continued by offering special thanks to the network’s media team who prepared her for the special promo video.
