Hallmark Channel News: 5 Of The Best Hallmark Movie Couples

Hallmark Channel News: 5 Of The Best Hallmark Movie CouplesWith Valentine’s Day on the horizon, let’s look back at some of the best, romantic couples in Hallmark Channel’s romantic movies.

As everyone gears up for Valentine’s Day with their significant other, the Hallmark Channel’s Love Ever After Valentine’s event is already on the go, with a series of new and original romantic movies to watch. However, sometimes it is nice to look back at some of the older movies and some of the best romantic couples on the Hallmark Channel.

1. Be My Valentine (2013) – Billy Baldwin and Natalie Brown

This heartwarming movie features Billy Baldwin as Daniel Farrell, a young, widowed father, and firefighter, bringing up his adolescent son on his own. Daniel is teaching his son the ropes on how to go about dating but finds he has many things he needs to figure out himself about love. When Daniel becomes a candidate for a bachelor auction at the annual Firemen’s Ball, he meets florist Kate (Natalie Brown), leading to another kind of spark flying.

As for the stars, Billy and Natalie are perfectly comfortable with each other and definitely have a great rapport.

2. Chance at Romance (2014) – Erin Krakow and Ryan McPartlin

Hearties know and love Erin Krakow for her role as Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton on the popular Hallmark series When Calls the Heart. However, she has also appeared in several Hallmark Channel movies, including the romantic comedy Chance at Romance. Erin plays Samantha, a woman who believes she has met the man of her dreams, Heath Madsen (Ryan McPartlin) on a dating website. However, when she goes to meet him, she discovers she has been communicating with a seventh-grader. The boy has been trying to find the perfect date for his widowed dad, a professional photographer, and things take a different turn.

While it is obviously awkward when Samantha meets Heath, due to the boy’s sneaky matchmaking, they do end up being a handsome couple indeed.

3. How to Fall in Love (2012) – Brooke D’Orsay and Eric Mabius

This cute romantic comedy stars Eric Mabius as a geeky, socially awkward man who hires an old school friend, who he once had a secret crush on (Brooke D’Orsay) to give him dating advice. In the process, the attraction gradually becomes mutual leading to a new romance. Kathy Najimy also stars.

Brooke describes Eric’s character Harold as an “old-fashioned romantic” and with all the things they have in common and their great rapport they make a beautiful couple.

4. June in January (2013) – Brooke D’Orsay and Wes Brown

Brooke D’Orsay also starred in this romantic film, opposite Wes Brown and Marilu Henner. Brooke plays the role of a newly engaged bride, whose scheming future mother-in-law (Henner) threatens her dream wedding. However, when a sudden change in plans brings her ideal outdoor June wedding up to a wintry date in January, the wedding goes ahead, despite the mother-in-law’s plans.

Brooke and Wes make a perfect couple against the background of Henner’s mother-in-law, who believes her character loves the idea of the wedding more than her son.

5. Smooch (2015) – Kellie Martin and Simon Kassianides

This totally charming movie is based on the story of the Frog Prince. A young girl is concerned about her single-parent mother (Kellie Martin), and kisses a frog, hoping he will turn into the proverbial prince. Suddenly she finds a man (Simon Kassianides) in a pond, who is suffering from amnesia. In fact, unknown to the young girl, the stranger is a member of English royalty. She takes the “frog prince” home with her and while at first, his mother isn’t interested, this leads to love and a perfect contemporary fairytale.
