She also feels that her time on the NBC soap opera has helped her dig deeply at emotional roots. Hallmark Channel News: Time For You to Come Home for Christmas

Alison has been in several Hallmark Channel movies. Her most recent one is the Blake Shelton-produced Time For You to Come Home for Christmas. It is a sequel to the previous installment, titled Time For Me to Come Home for Christmas.

The Hallmark Christmas movie stars Sweeney as a widow named Katerine, who is traveling on a train with her son. While on the train, she meets a veteran and the two begin to bond. However, they think the connection will end once they get to their respective stops. What they don’t realize is that they are both going to the same town.

Holiday Grief: Losing Loved Ones

“What I really love about this story is how it offers a deeper emotional connection to the holidays and what happens when you have memories that you can’t save for the holidays… you’re kind of dreading it because of memories that were so beautiful — maybe you lost someone… When it hurts on the holidays, people really identify with that. I love the idea that holidays can be whatever you need.”

Time For You to Come Home for Christmas airs on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on December 8 at 8 pm Central.
