He spoke about how support from fans blew his mind. The All My Children alum also gave an update on his health. It’s been one year since he was declared cancer-free.

AMC and Home & Family fans were shocked when Cameron revealed that he had been diagnosed with kidney cancer. However, his good health habits ended up helping him. The actor and TV host believe that’s why it hadn’t spread despite having been growing inside of his body.

“It was likely that my healthy lifestyle prevented it since it was growing the whole time but it hadn’t spread. The hardest thing in my whole life that I ever had to do was to tell my kids that I had cancer. They were supportive, loving, and helpful, before and after.”

Eventually, Cameron was told by doctors that he was cancer-free. It is now one year later and he is still eternally grateful. He still gets regular blood tests, but it seems like his health is better than ever. Cameron explained that he feels amazing, has more energy than ever, and has high spirits. However, he made it clear that the health journey is an ongoing process for him.

According to Digital Journal, Cameron was overwhelmed by the support from fans. It also blew his mind and he could feel the energy from everyone.

“Honestly, the support I got from the fans was so overwhelming and it blew my mind. I am a big believer in the power of prayer and human connection. I felt the energy and the support from all the people out there and that gave me a lot of positivity to get through it. That was a pretty unique and a very special thing.”

One year after being declared cancer-free, Cameron is still in remission. He makes sure to get blood tests done regularly and his health journey isn’t just temporary.
