Hallmark Channel news has some great information to pass on about a new holiday movie that you won’t want to miss. It’s part of the Hallmark Channel’s annual Countdown To Christmas event, and this movie is special in that it celebrates not only Christmas but Hanukkah as well. It’s called “Double Holiday” and it premiered on Sunday, December 22nd at 8 pm Eastern on the Hallmark Channel.
The movie follows a woman named Rebecca (played by Carly Pope) whose plans for Hanukkah take a turn when her boss asks her and her office mate Chris (played by Kristoffer Polaha) to plan the company’s Christmas party. Turns out, both Rebecca and Chris are up for the same promotion, so planning the party gets interesting.
Double Holiday Embraces Christian & Jewish Traditions
Plus, since Rebecca is Jewish, the two must work together to plan a party that celebrates both faith’s traditions. Chris learns more about Rebecca’s traditions, and she, in turn, starts to see him in a new light. Romance starts to blossom between the two, but the competition for the promotion could undermine the whole thing.
In the behind-the-scenes feature for the film, the actors expanded a bit on the movie’s plot. Carly Pope, who plays Rebecca, said: “Double Holiday takes place during the eight days of Hanukkah, which coincides with a Christmas party that my character Rebecca has been tasked with her rival coworker to throw.”

Kristoffer Polaha, who plays Chris, chimed in: “We’re trying to figure out what the theme of this party should be. First, it’s sort of a one-holiday Christmas party, but then we find out that Rebecca is Jewish, and her family celebrates Hanukkah.”

You might remember Carly Pope from her roles on the WB’s show Popular, plus her recurring roles on 24, Suits, and Outlaw. Kristoffer Polaha has starred in many prior Hallmark Channel movies and is currently starring in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series Mystery 101. He will also be appearing in the upcoming film Wonder Woman 2.
Said Kristoffer Polaha of the movie: “The network is making history with this movie, especially for the Countdown to Christmas spirit. It’s great they are bringing both cultures and both traditions together and blending them for a really fun movie.”
