Hallmark Channel News: Countdown to Christmas -‘Merry & Bright’ With Jodie Sweetin and Andrew Walker

The Christmas spirit is already filling the hearts of millions thanks to Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Countdown to Christmas and Miracles of Christmas kicked off on Friday, October 2, 2019, and the networks keep adding more new, original movies to their holiday schedules.

‘Merry & Bright’ starring Jodie Sweetin (‘Fuller House’) and Andrew Walker premieres on Saturday, November 2, 2019. The duo brings us a heartwarming Christmas romance, the trademark of the Hallmark Channel holiday movies.

What’s it like being a part of the Hallmark family? Jodie revealed, “Working on a Hallmark Christmas movie, is a bit like bringing a Hallmark card to life. It just looks so picture perfect.”

Cate (Jodie Sweetin), CEO of the Merry & Bright Candy Cane Company, has come home to take over the family business. Cate is savvy in business, but not in the romance department.

When Gabe meets Cate for the first time it’s in the hotel lobby where the executive is staying while in town. Gabe’s enthusiastic, “I’m your guy!” greeting perplexes Cate. She has no idea what her date looks like, only that her mother Joy (Sharon Lawrence) set up this blind date. No one has clued Cate in that this guy from Empire Recovery has been hired to delve into the candy cane company’s day-to-day operations and find ways to make the company more profitable. Gabe lets Cate know that her problems are over.

Still thinking Gabe is the guy she’s supposed to meet for the date, Cate tells him she’s just not interested. Eventually, it comes out that Gabe isn’t the romantic guy, he’s the guy there to shadow her and save Merry & Bright Candy Cane Company.

Jodie explains, “There’s a little tension at the beginning. [Cate] is a bit resistant to [Gabe] being here, which I think is sometimes the starting point for some of the best relationships.”

As they work together, discovering they have more in common than just business savvy, a sweet romance begins to slowly develop. Hallmarkies will need to watch ‘Merry & Bright’ to see how Cate and Gabe connect romantically, and if, as a team, they can save the candy cane company.

‘Merry & Bright’ makes its world premiere on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT on Hallmark Channel.

‘Fuller House’ co-star Candace Cameron Bure, the star of the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series ‘The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries,’ also has a holiday movie that is part of the Countdown to Christmas movie extravaganza. ‘Christmas Town’ makes its world premiere on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT.
