Hallmark Channel News: Good Witch Cast And Crew Has Something To Celebrate

‘Good Witch’ spoilers bring news that the Hallmark Channel series landed the #2 spot of the most-watched cable series. The Season 5 finale aired on Sunday, August 18 and pushed the Hallmark Channel into the highest-rated and most-watched cable channel.

There’s even more good ratings news about ‘Good Witch.’ Season 5 was the highest-ranked and most-watched season in ‘Good Witch’ history.

It ranked as the highest-rated and most-watched program of the day and second highest-rated and most-watched non-news program of the week.

That’s a huge accomplishment for a TV series that started in 2008 as a Hallmark Original Movie.‘Good Witch’ isn’t the only series generating excitement. ‘When Hope Calls,’ the spin-off period drama from ‘When Calls the Heart,’ premieres on Hallmark Movies NOW, the cable network’s subscription-based streaming service. When Hope Calls premieres on August 30.

‘When Calls The Heart’ has been renewed for a seventh season and will return in 2020, but no official release date has been revealed. The show will also have a Christmas episode, a recent press release confirmed.

Crown Media announced earlier this year that the series had been renewed for a sixth season. However, Bailee Madison (Grace Russell) won’t be returning. In  the ‘Good Witch’ finale, Grace headed off to college, which will explain her absence next season.

Grace will be the only Middleton resident who doesn’t return. Cassie Nightengale (Catherine Bell), Dr. Sam Radford (James Denton) and Catherine Disher (Martha Tisdale) will all be back.
