Speaking to WUSA9, Krakow explained why she wanted to do “It Was Always You.” After reading the script, she was taken by the romantic story. She said that it is a love story that she really believes in.

“There is so much heart, so much focus on family and love, and discovering your true sense of self and following that path. It was a love story that I really believed and I felt like I understood the characters right from the beginning of that first read. Putting it on its feet and actually bringing this story to life, it just got better and better.”

Krakow and Hyne were asked if they had any favorite scenes in the movie. Krakow discussed a scene toward the end of the production that shows Elizabeth navigating the path of self-discovery. Where she makes a decision to be who she really is underneath instead of the woman she convinced herself she was.
