Working With Tracy Andreen
Speaking to TV Insider, Katrina says that she loves working with her sister-in-law, who also wrote “Christmas With the Darlings.” She explains her relationship with Tracy,
“I personally love my sister-in-law regardless of whether I was related to her or not. I think she’s brilliant, I think she’s talented, and I think she writes really fun, creative, heartwarming funny stories. And to be part of it and to know she trusted me with her second movie was an honor. And to know Hallmark trusted me with a third movie was even more of an honor.”
About ‘Christmas With the Darlings’
The Hallmark Christmas movie focuses on Katrina’s character, Jessica Lew. She is the executive assistant to Charles Darlington (Steve Bacic), Darlington Corporation CEO. Jessica puts in her two-week notice with the intention of staying on with the company as an attorney. Katrina explains that there is a lot of mutual respect between Jessica and Charles. One of the character’s best qualities is the same one that holds her back in life — her fierce loyalty.
In “Christmas With the Darlings,” Jessica’s employer gave her an amazing job, a wonderful work atmosphere, and made it possible for her to continue working while attending law school. Jessica views Charles not just as a boss, but as a mentor, father figure, and big brother rolled into one. Now, Jessica will meet Charles’ younger brother, Max Darlington (Carlo Marx). At first, he seems charming, yet annoying.
Katrina Law Teases Storyline
When Jessica finds out that Charles’ nieces and nephews, who are orphans, are going to spend Christmas at boarding school, she steps up to help. Jessica decides to watch the children and ensure they have a wonderful Christmas. Max ends up joining Jessica, but she assumes that he is going to be “very unreliable.” She is wrong, though, and shows himself to be an amazing uncle who goes above and beyond to give the kids a magical Christmas.
A Little Unexpected Christmas Romance
As they spend more time together, Jessica learns who Max really is. Katrina explains, “… [Max is] this super-sensitive, vulnerable guy who really wants to be more responsible than what he’s perceived as… it’s really lovely to see them interacting and compromising with each other, but doing it in a fun and loving way that ends up being quite wonderful for the children in the long run. And, he helps her to realize the joy in spontaneity,”
The Hallmark Channel will air the premiere of “Christmas With the Darlings” on Sunday, November 8 at 8/7 Central.
