The Hallmark Channel is taking the time to introduce a few of the main characters and giving ‘When Calls The Heart’ fans a look at the much-anticipated spin-off

Hearties were introduced to Lillian and Grace during the ‘When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing,’ episode in 2018. ‘When Hope Calls’ continues Grace and Lilian’s journey.
Grace [Jocelyn Hudon] is described as joyful, warm, and optimistic When Grace and Lillian’s parents died, the girls were separated. Lillian was adopted, Grace wasn’t. Years later the young women were reunited and are building a community filled with love and family. The family that Grace never had.

Lillian [Morgan Kohan] is described as strong, caring, and determined. Orphaned at a young age, Lillian and Grace led very different lives. What those lives were like will unfold as the story is told in the ‘When Calls the Heart’ spin-off.
Tess [Wendy Crewson] is bold, direct, and protective. The short preview clip gives the impression that Tess is a take-charge woman that is not well-liked and feared by the residents of Brookfield.

Gabriel [Ryan-James Hatanaka] is a Mountie returning to Brookfield. Described as brave, dashing, and honorable, many in town believe the young man to be a hero. Lilian has her eye on him and ‘WHC’ spoilers tease that the Gabriel may be vying for Lillian’s heart.

Chuck [ Greg Hovanessian], a veterinarian mistaken for ranch hand is clever, loyal and charming, ‘When Hope Calls’ spoilers tease Chuck is a love interest for Grace.
‘WHC’ spoilers reveal that Hearties will see familiar faces from ‘When Calls the Heart.’ Hope Valley residents Rosemary Coulter [Pascale Hutton] Leland Coulter [Kavan Smith], and Mountie Nathan Grant [Kevin McGarry] will be in Brookfield throughout the first season.
‘When Hope Calls’ makes its debut Friday, August 30 with two episodes on Hallmark Movies NOW. New episodes will be available on the subscription-based streaming service channel every Monday through October 25, 2019.

I watch HALLMARK religiously BUT why is Hallmark all white? Do they not think of people of color as having a life worth writing about? Is Hallmark racist?
