Hallmark Channel news reveals there is a special event this weekend. While much of the world is dealing with the devastation surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, many people have gone to social media to ask for some lighthearted goodness to watch on television. The family-friendly network answered and is airing a Christmas movie marathon.
Crown Media Halts Production
Shortly after COVID-19 started sweeping through North America, Crown Media released a statement confirming it was shutting down production. At the time, many other TV shows, soap operas, talk shows, and movie sets did the same thing.
Viewers Voice Wanting Feel-Good Films
On the Hallmark Channel’s social media accounts, fans have been sharing their thoughts on what they want to see on TV. During a time of devastation and uncertainty, viewers have made it clear that they want to see some uplifting programs. Many suggested more airing of Christmas movies and it seems that the network has granted that wish.
Hallmark Channel News: Christmas Marathon
Expect this weekend to bring a Christmas marathon on both the Hallmark Channel as well as Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. There is a huge line-up for both channels, too. One will air a total of 31 holiday films, while the other is scheduled to broadcast 29 Christmas movies during the marathon. Want to know if your favorites will be aired when it kicks off on Friday, March 28?
What To Expect This Weekend
The big event starts out on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries on Friday at 10 a.m. CST with A Bramble House Christmas. Then, expect 28 more holiday-themed films to follow, such as Christmas In Montana, Karen Kingsbury’s Maggie’s Christmas Miracle, A Veteran’s Christmas, and A Godwink Christmas: Meant For Love.

As for the Hallmark Channel, its marathon begins at 12 p.m. CST with Christmas In Evergreen: Letters To Santa. It will then air 30 more movies of the same theme. Some titles you can expect to see include The Mistletoe Promise, Christmas At Holly Lodge, Picture A Perfect Christmas, Christmas Town, Write Before Christmas, and My Christmas Dream.
