Bailee, 20, has admitted to feeling a little nervous recently, as she has been involved in the filming of the musical A Week Away. This means she is about to sing and dance for the camera for the very first time.
Madison told J-14 that it was a “nerve-wracking” experience. She said obviously you want to do the best that you can, but she had never danced or sung in front of a camera before. However, while she was nervous, she admits she was also very excited, as this kind of work has been on her bucket list for a number of years. Bailee has been longing to show this side of herself and is both thrilled and honored to star in the musical.
Bailee told herself, “Alright, let’s give it all,” going on to say she would give everything she’s got and see what happens. The result is that she is feeling very fulfilled and she said that it was such a great experience. Madison also said that after the cameras stopped rolling, all the cast got on well together.
Synopsis of A Week Away
The musical tells the story of a troubled teenager who has had a recent run-in with the law. This time it puts the teen at an important crossroads in his life. Will Hawkins is forced to choose between heading to juvenile hall and everything that entails, or attending a Christian summer camp.
The teen chooses the latter, which means at first he is a fish out of water. However, he eventually manages to open up his heart and find love and a sense of belonging in a place he would never have expected to find it.
Besides starring in the new movie, Bailee is also an associate producer. She stars opposite Kevin Quinn (Adventures in Babysitting), who plays Will Hawkins, David Koechner (Anchorman) and Sherri Shepherd (Ride Along 2).
Other cast members are newcomers Kat Conner Sterling, Jahbril Cook and Iain Tucker. The film is set for release at some time in 2020.
