Hallmark Channel – Plans Sequel To Candace Cameron Bure Film
Jodie Sweetin will star in a Christmas film that will serve as a sequel to one of Candace Cameron Bure’s Hallmark classics. And that lead role has sparked rumors that Jodie will replace Bure. Adding to the clues, Candace’s male lead will star in the sequel as well, according to Heavy.
But at this point, it remains unknown as to whether Sweetin’s role means she has replaced Bure in the Christmas Under Wraps sequel or if Hallmark always intended for her to take on the lead. The sequel to Christmas Under Wraps is titled A Cozy Christmas Inn. And that film doesn’t offer the only indication that Jodie could become one of Hallmark’s leading ladies.
Always in the know about Christmas films, the Twitter account Sleepy Kitty Paw shared Jodie will also star in another Christmas movie. That second film is titled Remembering Christmas, with Tim Rozon as the male lead. One reason that the Christmas Under Wraps sequel has gotten so much buzz, though, is that it ranks as Hallmark’s movie with the highest ratings ever.
Jodie Sweetin – Will Star In Hallmark Sequel With Vivca A. Fox
Filmed in Utah in December, the Christmas Under Wraps sequel script seeks to continue as much as the original as possible. For instance, the same writer (Jennifer Notas Shapiro) who penned the original also authored Cozy Christmas Inn. However, rather than trying to play Bure’s character, Dr. Lauren Brunell, Jodie will portray a character named Erika McNicoll.
But David O’Donnell will reprise his role. O’Donnell portrayed Andy Holliday, Brunell’s love interest, in the original. And he will also portray Andy in the sequel with Sweetin. J.E. Logan will serve as the director to the movie. Co-starring with Jodie are Vivica A. Fox, Brian Doyle-Murray, Peter Jacobson, Jennifer Aspen, Kim Shaw, and Page Petrucka. In addition to O’Donnell, Anita Rice will reprise her role of Faith Holliday.
The news about Jodie follows Candace’s decision to sign a contract with Hallmark’s competitor, GAC Family. Bure inked the deal with GAC after both Jen Lilley and Danica McKellar exited Hallmark, noted Cinema Blend. However, Candace reportedly specifically wanted the chance to develop and produce in her own movies. And that made her decide to agree to go to GAC.

Jodie filling in Candace shoes is just wrong. Working for Hallmark is great and having her own movies is fabulous but to even walk in a sequel or any movie to take over for Candace is wrong. Jodie does not have the chops to replace her. You have amazing actors and actresses that can fill the missing Hallmark Queens and Kings and do a wonderful job.
I love both woman and I love what they bring to their own movies bc they each bring their own thing but to replace Candace in her sequels that’s just doing Candace dirty, unless Candace didn’t want role that’s different. You have certain ppl that are Kings and Queens of Hallmark and some that are princesses and princes in training. I hope they don’t treat all their stars like that bc that’s not the Hallmark I know and love.
