About A Christmas Miracle

According to the actor’s interview with Woman’s Day, the holiday movie focuses on Emma Sanderson (Tamera Mowry), a single mother who moved to a new city to begin a temp job at a magazine. Looking for a miracle in her own life, she fuses that wish in her personal and professional life. At her new gig, she brainstorms an idea for a “killer story” about a Christmas miracle. However, it is stolen from her by Emma’s own boss.

Luckily, one of her co-workers could help her, even though the two are complete opposites. A real-life Grinch, Marcus (Brooks Darnell) makes the partnership a bit odd. However, it could actually turn out to be perfect. It is teased that the two start to form a friendship while working together.

The official website for the Hallmark Channel also gave additional details for the holiday movie. It states that Emma will provide a Christmas miracle for a lonely street musician. It sounds like while looking for her own miracle, she ends up being exactly that to someone else.

About a Christmas Miracle also stars Barry Bostwick as Santa Dean. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will air the movie on Thursday, November 14.

Christmas Lover Plays a Scrooge

The Y&R actor loves the holiday and uses it as a reason to set up and decorate the tree, as well as to watch seasonal films on TV. He also has a Christmas hat and jokes that forces the dog to participate in the jolly holiday.

“I’m like putting the Christmas tree up with the Christmas hat, putting it on the dog, eating popcorn. I have Home Alone playing in the background on the TV. I have all the soundtracks that I’m listening to on Spotify. I’m the guy that goes to the Thanksgiving Day sale, the day after Christmas sale, camping out, and I pretty much buy out the whole store, so I’m all for the whole Christmas theme.”

Being a jolly Christmas lover, Darnell found it difficult to play a character that is a Scrooge. Thankfully, Hallmark made sure that the set always felt like the holidays even though they filmed during summer. The network went all out and even included hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, and real snow.

Why Y&R Actor Loves Hallmark Movies

This isn’t Brooks’ first film with the network. In 2016, he appeared in All Yours and A Christmas Miracle will be his second Hallmark movie. He explained that he came back to work with Hallmark again because of the warm feeling that viewers get from watching the films.

He also mentioned that there is a positive vibe and they are like family. He commended them on doing a great job with casting actors that have chemistry.

“Family first is what Hallmark is about and I think deep down inside, that’s what we all are about.”

Brooks Darnell’s Other Projects

While he is best known for his role on The Young and the Restless, the actor has a long list of credits to his name. For those that haven’t seen Y&R, Brooks may seem familiar from other projects. He has appeared in Shadowhunters, Bones, Total Recall, Nikita and Ghostly Encounters.
