Hallmark Channel ‘Romance In Style’ Brings Body Positivity To The Viewers

Hallmark Movies and Mysteries spoilers, news, and updates tease that the new romantic show encourages acceptance of different body sizes.

“Romance in Style” got skillful actors, including Jaicy Elliot, who was first known as Dr. Taryn Helm in the longest-running medical drama, “Grey’s Anatomy.” She was tapped to play the leading role in the movie, and “Vendetta’s” Benjamin Hollingsworth plays her opposite. The model and designer, Candice Huffine, also makes an appearance.

The new romantic story is all about a confident and passionate plus-size fashion designer named Ella (Jaicy Elliot), who wants to style clothing for women like herself. As she steps foot on a high-profile fashion publication as a freelance seamstress, she bumps into Derek (Benjamin Hollingsworth), a “Prince of Publishing,” who’s learning about the fashion business as he will take over the corporation from his father.

Despite their differences, will Ella and Derek unite their worlds and find love along the way?

Hallmark Cannel News – Jaicy Elliot Talks About ‘Romance In Style’

When asked about her character, Jaicy Elliot expressed her fondness for her role as it brings so much positivity that encourages women to be themselves. “She’s a force of nature and she’s so set in her mission to liberate women through her inclusive fashion that she’s working on. That was really nice energy to be around all the time because it’s a very positive and uplifting kind of version of myself that I have to bring forward,” she told TV Insider.

Talking about Derek, Benjamin Hollingsworth’s role, the “Grey’s Anatomy” star teased that Ella treats the man differently compared to the rest. Her character seems to be the most understanding and accepting kind of person, but when it comes to Derek, she’s showing the opposite. However, it somehow opened a special approach for the two of them that will eventually bring their relationship to the next level.

Jaicy Elliot also mentioned how their movie differs from other movies in Hallmark. “It’s very different. It’s kind of cool because it was a first for them in terms of what they wanted to do with the theme of the movie and we had a lot of fun making it into its own little side Hallmark project,” she stated.

“Romance in Style” premiered last August 13 but it can be watched again this coming August 27 at 4 pm and September 17 at 10 pm ET.
