Hallmark Channel Star Danica McKellar Opens Up About Her Son Draco

Former Hallmark Channel star Danica McKellar has opened up about her family life including her son and only child, Draco. According to the GAC Family star, her greatest joy is spending time with her family. Read on to find out more about McKellar’s family and why she only has one child.

The Wonder Years star has opened up about her family and how much joy they bring her. Meanwhile, the Hallmark alum is a mom to one child, her son Draco, whom she shares with her former husband, Mike Verta.

Following her marriage to Verta in 2009, the former Hallmark star soon fell pregnant, giving birth to her son one year later. Reportedly, McKellar was in labor for 36 hours before welcoming Draco to the world. Meanwhile, her ex-husband suggested the name Draco, as it is inspired by the name of a constellation.

Talking to People at the time, Danica said Mike heard the name and loved it. “He said, ‘Once we’re gone, the constellation will keep looking out for him.’” McKellar admitted it makes her cry every time she hears it, which made it a winner. In fact, she said she loved it and that it is a “cool, strong name.”

In 2012, the former Hallmark Channel star filed for divorce from Verta. Meanwhile, two years later, she was wed to attorney Scott Sveslosky. Her second husband is a father to one son, Hunter from a previous relationship.

In April 2019, Danica opened up to Closer about Scott, saying he is a great partner and is “sweet, supportive, loving.” She noted that they are raising Hunter, 14, and Draco, 8, together. Meanwhile, McKellar also said that watching their friendship develop was a blessing.

Speaking to Closer, Danica explained how much joy she has with bonding with her son, Draco. Meanwhile, she loves inspiring people with her math books, she also loves providing quality entertainment to Hallmark Channel at that time, and now with GAC Family. However, she said spending time with her son is so precious and that there is no contest.

When asked if she has plans to expand her family, The Wonder Years’ former star spoke about her and Scott’s desire to have another child in the past. Meanwhile, she explained that they actually tried to fall pregnant, but that it didn’t happen and that is OK. Moreover, she explained that she has a great relationship with her son. However, she said she is 44 (now 47), “a little on the older side,” saying, “we’re not not trying.” Meanwhile, Danica added:

Who knows? I joke with Scott, if we’re not going to have a kid, maybe we should open a foster home!

It sounds like the former Hallmark star turned GAC Family actress has a fine relationship with her second husband, Scott. Meanwhile, they do have two sons to bring up together, even if one isn’t Danica’s blood relative.
