Hallmark Channel actor Niall Matter has shocked his fans by sporting a full beard in the latest Aurora Teagarden movie. Like women, men sometimes like to have a chance and one would imagine shaving is easier with a beard in place. However, Matter’s fans have taken to social media to denounce his new look. Is there a reason why he is now sporting a full beard?
Hallmark Channel – Niall Matter Sports Beard In latest Aurora Teagarden Movie
Fans were thrilled when Hallmark Movies & Mysteries released the latest Aurora Teagarden film. However, while they enjoyed the movie, they don’t appreciate the fact that Niall Matter sports a full beard in Haunted by Murder.
Normally, Niall’s character, Nick, has just a small amount of sexy scruff or is totally clean-shaven. This all changed with the latest movie, where his beard is causing controversy all over social media.
Hallmark Channel – Fan Reaction To Niall’s Beard
Admittedly, Matter’s new beard did draw a fairly wide-ranging reaction. However, generally speaking, fans did not enjoy his new look. Some even theorized he had grown it intentionally for another role.
One fan wrote on Twitter, “What’s up with that heavy beard on Niall Matter? Is he playing a serial killer in another movie?”

However, despite that possibility, fans were generally upset that they had to see him with the beard. Another fan posted comparison photos of Niall with the caption, “Niall Matter yay or nay on the full beard. Personally, I LOATHE it.” Looking at the two images, it is easy to agree.

Some revealed humor, comparing Niall to an animated character and writing. “I’m honestly not sure if @niallmatter‘s beard is real in tonight’s #aurorateagarden mystery. This is all I can see.” They added the hashtags, #yukoncornelius.

Yet another fan wrote on Twitter, “The main thing bugging me about the new #AuroraTeagarden movie is Niall Matter’s beard. What is up with that thing?”

Some brave souls supported Niall’s new look, while most said that, moving forward, he should go with his clean-shaven look. There were also a few brave voices who showed support for the beard, although most insisted that Niall should shave it moving forward.
However, one fan responded on Twitter, writing, “According to Candace Nial [sic] had over 20 stitches on his face in an accident that happened very close to film time.” If this is so, who can blame the handsome actor?

Is the Hallmark star preparing for a new role?
So far, it isn’t 100 percent clear that Matter grew the beard to hide his stitches. It is also unclear whether Matter is getting ready for another role. Niall likely didn’t expect the online uproar about his facial look, but so far doesn’t seem to have reacted.

I am a fan of Niall Matter with or without facial hair. He is a great actor, and he is handsome either way. I personally prefer him clean shaven, but I like him either way.
I like Niall either way but prefer the shorter scruffy look.. The beard seems soooo dark to me and its all I could see… but who am I to tell someone how they should look? lol.
