Hallmark Channels Open By Christmas Is A Festive Quest

We are now right in the heart of the Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas 2021. We’ve had Christmas trees, tinsel and plenty of romance. However, Open By Christmas has a different and intriguing theme that is sure to be thoroughly enjoyable. Read on to find out more about this festive holiday movie.

Hallmark Channels – Open By Christmas on the Hallmark Channel

Hallmark’s synopsis tells us that while helping her parents move Nicky (Alison Sweeney) discovers a card that was given to her in high school that she had opened before. The card was written by a secret admirer who tells her his true feelings. The card peaks Nicky’s interest and with the help of her lifelong best friend, Simone (Erica Durance) she heads on a quest to discover and thank the anonymous author.

As for Simone, she is a single working mother who feels she is losing touch with her teenage son. This is especially so, as she plans to remarry and begin a new chapter in her life. Simone turns to Nicky, who helps her understand that she is holding on too tight in the fear of her son growing up, while everything is changing.

This leads to two good friends helping each other find answers to the past and the present, through a special bond that makes them feel like sisters.

Hallmark Channels – Cast Of The Hallmark Movie

The Open By Christmas all-star cast features Alison Sweeney (Hannah Swensen Mysteries, Days Of Our Lives) and Erica Durance (Supergirl, Smallville). It also stars Brennan Elliott (The Crossword Mysteries, Christmas in Vienna, Patrick Rinehart (Continuum, The Flash) and Jarrod Evanyshyn (Crumbs, Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater). Also on the cast are Glen Gordon (When Calls The Heart, Sweet Carolina) and Tiffani Timms (The Flash, Christmas Sail).

While Sweeney and Elliott have starred in a number of Hallmark Christmas movies, this is the first time they have worked together. They obviously had a load of fun, with Alison posting an image of them on set to her Instagram while giving a nod to Brennan and Erica.

She captioned the post with the incorrect premiere date, “I’m so excited to celebrate with all of you my Christmas movie update – Open By Christmas is premiering on @hallmarkchannel Friday November 5th. It’s been such fun to work with @brennanelliott2 – he’s fabulous! – & also my new friend, the gorgeous & talented @durance.erica! We’re still on set filming… I’m so looking forward to seeing it all put together.”

For his part, Brennan shared a similar image to his Instagram, writing: “Excite [sic] to share this sweet Christmas story with all of you fans! THANKYOU for your unwavering support and c u #nov12. I believe is the new date @hallmarkchannel with my lovely costar @alisweeney.”
