As Hallmark fans know, a number of the networks recently jumped ship to Great American Family. Now, it’s the turn of a movie franchise to make a move. In fact, a sequel to the 2020 Hallmark movie, The Christmas Waltz, is currently in development with Great American Family.
Christmas movie franchise waltzes from Hallmark to Great American Family
As Hallmark fans know, many of the network’s stars have moved to Great American Family. Now, it is a movie franchise that is making the move. A sequel to the 2020 Hallmark movie, Christmas Waltz will now premiere on Hallmark’s rival, Great American Family. While the original starred Will Kemp and Lacey Chabert, the sequel stars former Hallmark actress Jen Lilley (Days of Our Lives) and Matthew Morrison of Glee fame.
Titled Paris Christmas Waltz, the sequel was filmed on location in the City of Light. According to the network, the movie will take viewers to “the magic of the city’s most iconic destinations.”
What is Paris Christmas Waltz about?
According to Deadline, the story starts with Emma (Lilley), who gives up her job so that a colleague with a family can keep his. Meanwhile, Emma meets a professional dancer, Leo (Morrison), who has lost his interest in competitive dance. However, when Leo is presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Leo and Emma team up to impress the dance community in Paris.
Meanwhile, it seems that the Christmas Waltz producers have also jumped ship from Hallmark to Great American Family. Deadline reports that Michael Damian and Janeed Damian, who produced the 2020 movie, will produce the sequel, Paris Christmas Waltz. Michael will also direct the movie for Great American Family.
Moreover, Brad Krevoy, Amy Krell, Lorenzo Nardini and Jimmy Townsend are executive producers for the movie.
When will Paris Christmas Waltz premiere?
The sequel movie, Paris Christmas Waltz, is set to premiere as part of the Great American Christmas programming event, starting on October 21. Meanwhile, Great American Family’s new holiday movies will premiere on Saturdays and Sundays, up until the end of 2023.

The Hallmark movie, Christmas Waltz, was one of the highest-rated holiday films of 2020. It starred Lacey Chabert as a woman dumped by her fiancé just before what would have been her perfect Christmas wedding. Despite the breakup, she decides to take the ballroom lessons anyway and goes on to fall in love with her instructor, played by Will Kemp.
