Sweeter Than Chocolate On Hallmark Channel

Eloise Mumford, Dan Jeannotte and Brenda Strong star in the new original movie, Sweeter Than Chocolate, airing as part of Hallmark’s annual Loveuary programming event. Moreover, the movie is based on the fourth book from Hallmark Publishing to be adapted into an original story.

According to the official synopsis, Lucy Sweet’s (Eloise Mumford) chocolate shop has been a Valentine’s Day Mecca. This is because rumors spread that eating one of her special Cupid chocolates on February 14 will lead to finding true love.

Meanwhile, it is that rumor that intrigues local TV reporter, Dean Chase (Dan Jeannotte, who is now determined to debunk the local legend. However, the last thing Lucy needs is for someone to threaten her shop. Due to this, she agrees to take part in his investigative research, joining him in interviewing key couples who swear they fell in love due to Lucy’s chocolates.

As Dean interviews couple after couple, he gets to know Lucy better. It turns out they have both had broken hearts. However, Lucy still believes in the power of love, while Dean has lost faith in it. Meanwhile, being around Lucy forces Dean to ponder if his take on romance is completely wrong.

When Dean’s boss gets excited about the developing story, she insists Dean does a live feed from the chocolate shop on Valentine’s Day. Moreover, he must sample one of Lucy’s infamous Cupid chocolates himself. Due to this, interest builds in what is being hyped as the truth about Lucy’s store.

Meanwhile, when one of Lucy’s happy couples ends in disaster, she begins to wonder if Dean had been right all along. Is she really misleading everyone with naïve faith? However, when Lucy is ready to wave the white flag and admit defeat, Dean comes to her rescue. He convinces her that putting more love into the world is a good thing, even if there are some heartaches along the way.

Eloise Mumford, who plays Lucy, is known for starring in Fifty Shades of Grey and The Baker’s Son. She leads the movie opposite Dan Jeannotte, known for his roles in The Bold Type and The Royal Nanny. Meanwhile, Brenda Strong, who also stars, has been seen in Despite Housewives.

According to the official IMDb page, other cast includes Linda Ko and Nora Nguyen, Jordana Summer as Georgie and Nik Andrews as Wyatt Greggs. Other cast members include Bobby Stewart as Malcolm, Lesley Mirza and Amy McInnes as female customers, and Jillian Knowles as Young Helen. Moreover, Zack Currie plays the role of Mark, Liam Boland plays Scott Sweet and Henry C. King plays young Malcolm.
