Hallmark Executive Hints At More When Calls The Heart Spinoffs

As fans are already looking forward to season 11 of When Calls the Heart, they wonder what the future holds for the popular drama series. Meanwhile, an executive with Hallmark Channel has hinted at the future of WCTH.

What is the future of When Calls the Heart on Hallmark?

Season 10 of When Calls the Heart premiered on July 30, 2023, and fans are looking forward to the eleventh season later this year. Meanwhile, in an interview with Variety, a Hallmark Channel executive has teased the drama series’ future.

The fan-favorite Hallmark drama series first aired in 2014 and has generated various spinoffs in various movies, as well as the spinoff series, When Hope Calls. The latter show moved over to Hallmark’s competition, Great American Family.

Talking to Variety on February 6, Lisa Hamilton Daly, Hallmark Media’s EVP of Programming, said:

We always have conversations about how to expand our IP. It’s a constant conversation, but for that one, it’s going so well still. It’s hard to think, who would you peel off? Erin [Krakow] is really central to the show, as many of the cast members are. It’s possible, were that show to reach a conclusion, then we might think about what to do, but at this point, we plan to keep going.

Reuniting Hallmark stars in future movies

Recently, news of a new movie starring When Calls the Heart alum Daniel Lissing and star, Erin Krakow, came to light. Meanwhile, Lissing starred in When Calls the Heart up until season 5, when he was killed off in the finale episode.

Despite the fact that six years have gone by since he last starred in the Hallmark drama, Lissing is reuniting with Erin Krakow in a new movie, Santa Tell Me, set to air in the network’s Countdown to Christmas 2024 programming event.

During the interview with Variety, Hamilton Daly was asked about potential reunions, which are a big deal on any network, including Hallmark. The reunion of Scott Wolf and Lacey Chabert happened last year, and now Lissing and Krakow are reuniting.

It was asked whether that is something Hallmark is planning to do through their Christmas lineup. Hallmark Media’s EVP of Programming responded, saying:

100%. That’s sort of one of our categories that we think of: Who can we reunite on screen that the fans are just going to be so excited about?

Meanwhile, after that explosive cliffhanger at the end of season 10, fans are looking forward to the eleventh season which premieres on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 8 pm ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.
