Hallmark Expands Mahogany Content With Scripted Podcast Crimson Hearts Collide

As fans of the feel-good network know, Hallmark Channel is constantly innovating and becoming more inclusive. Its latest innovation is to expand into scripted podcasting with the series Crimson Hearts Collide.
As reported by Variety, the eight-part podcast series will form an extension of Hallmark’s popular Mahogany content initiative. Read on to find out more about the new podcast series and when it will officially launch.
Hallmark podcast series Crimson Hearts Collide
Hallmark’s first scripted podcast series, Crimson Hearts Collide is set to launch on August 24, 2023. Airing in eight parts, the mystery-romance podcast is produced by AYR Media and is set to be an extension of the current Hallmark Mahogany content line.
The Black culture initiative was initially launched as a card line over 30 years ago and then last year, resurfaced as an entertainment offering as part of Hallmark’s inclusivity initiative.
Toni Judkins, Hallmark Media’s Senior VP of Programming Development released a statement about the new scripted podcast, saying:
I’m thrilled for fans to experience the heart of our powerful Hallmark storytelling in this new, accessible and rapidly growing medium.
Listeners will fall in love with the enchanting story of Crimson Hearts Collide, which is sure to invite more people into the passionate, vibrant world of Mahogany programming.
What is the podcast about?
The new Hallmark scripted podcast tells the story of Sonora Williams (Malinda Williams), a prominent New York lawyer. She receives a letter in the mail about an uncle who has passed away and left her his farm in Alabama.
As Williams grew up in foster care, she never knew her uncle and travels to Alabama in an effort to find answers about why her family didn’t claim her as a child. While doing so, Sonora meets cowboy Zeke Summers (Keith D. Robinson), to whom she is immediately drawn.
Who is on the cast of the Hallmark podcast Crimson Hearts Collide?
The role of Sonora Williams is played by Malinda Williams, known for her roles in Soul Food, High School High, The Undershepherd and First Sunday.
Meanwhile, Keith D. Robinson plays the handsome cowboy, Zeke Summers, and has previously been seen in Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday and Redemption in Cherry Springs. Amanda Seales also stars in the podcast and is known for her role in Insecure.
When will the podcast launch?
The first two episodes of the new scripted podcast, Crimson Hearts Collide will launch on August 24, 2023, with further episodes released each Thursday on all podcast platforms.
