Hallmark Filming When Calls The Heart Season 11 Before Season 10 Drops

Recently, Hallmark Channel star Erin Krakow has been promoting her new, romantic movie, The Wedding Cottage with Brendan Penny. When being interviewed on the subject of the movie, naturally questions came up relating to WCTH season 10. One exciting fact is that season 11 is already being filmed, before season 10 even premieres.

When Calls the Heart season 11 filming

When Erin Krakow revealed that filming has already started on season 11, this led to more questions. This is especially so relating to the season 10 premiere, set to happen after filming began.

Speaking to ET on Friday, Krakow spoke about her new, upcoming Hallmark movie, The Wedding Cottage. However, not surprisingly, questions came up relating to When Calls the Heart season 10. Erin opened up on the subject, while also revealing news about season 11.

It turns out filming on season 11 of the Hallmark show is set to start in late June 2023. Meanwhile, this is a month earlier than normal. In previous years, Hallmark started filming in the Vancouver area in late July, finishing around Thanksgiving. However, there is something different this time. Krakow explained:

Our showrunner is hard at work. I know that production is getting things in motion to get started. As always, I’m looking forward to getting back to Hope Valley and reuniting with our cast and crew.

Why film WCTH season 11 so early?

While ET’s interview didn’t answer specific questions about starting filming early, this major change could mean something else is in the works. Hallmark hasn’t said anything about the reasons for the earlier filming date. However, there are some possibilities.

Firstly, this could possibly mean that When Calls the Heart stars will be available for a 2023 Christmas movie. Alternatively, it could point to Hallmark ordering a WCTH holiday movie.

Hearties will recall that the last When Calls the Heart Christmas movie, Home for Christmas was aired on December 25, 2019. Meanwhile, due to the COVID pandemic, there was no Christmas movie in 2020. However, season 7 was increased to 12 episodes. The same can be said of 2021 and 2022. Hopefully, this could point to Hearties getting a Christmas movie in 2023.

While there are many reasons for bringing filming forward, we may never know. However, anything early relating to When Calls the Heart is good news for fans!
