Hallmark & Full House Star Jodie Sweetin On 35th Anniversary Without Bob Saget

Jodie Sweetin will soon be starring in the movie A Cozy Christmas Inn on Hallmark Channel but is also a former Full House and Fuller House star. Recently, the cast was celebrating the original show’s 35th anniversary.

Full House & Hallmark Star Talks Major Anniversary Without Bob Saget

Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner in Full House and Netflix reboot Fuller House, talks the original sitcom’s bittersweet 35th anniversary. However, while other stars were available to celebrate that important anniversary, the patriarch figure, played by the late Bob Saget, was unable to do so.

Full House enjoyed eight seasons, running from 1987 to 1995. Besides Saget as Danny Tanner, his character’s best pals were John Stamos as Jesse, and Dave Coulier as Joey. Between the three men, they were all involved in raising the girls, with Candace Cameron Bure as DJ, Sweetin as the middle child Stephanie, and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen playing the toddler, Michelle.

The show was so popular that the Full House stars have had a number of reunions and remain very close. Moreover, several of the original stars reprised their roles in Fuller House. However, sadly Bob Saget passed away unexpectedly at the age of 65 in January this year

The success of the popular sitcom led to a sequel series, Fuller House, created by Netflix in 2016, which ran until 2020. This year, Stamos and Sweetin were among other cast members who were in Netflix’s Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute. Many other cast members took to social media to celebrate the 35th anniversary on September 22, 2022

Jodie Sweetin and a ‘bittersweet anniversary’

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Sweetin spoke of her feelings about the anniversary of Full House. She did acknowledge that the anniversary was bittersweet for several reasons. However, she also shared the heartwarming sentiment that they knew Bob was with them. Jodie said:

35 is a big one. And whenever I think about 35 years I’m like, I’ve been alive longer than 35 years, which is terrifying. But it was a little bittersweet. We always like to celebrate these big milestones and every year we think that’s one more year that we’ve all been this extended family. And so we definitely, definitely missed Bob, but we know he was with us. He’s always right in the middle. He would never not be the center of attention, I love it.

Meanwhile, since Saget passed, the original cast has been more vocal than ever about the ways in which he, and the series itself, touched their lives. In fact, Saget is often spoken of as one o the best TV dads of all time. Moreover, he became a comforting presence to many fans of the series even a long time since it aired.

For instance, Stamos, who did star in some episodes of Fuller House has previously spoken about the show. He said he cannot imagine returning to the franchise without Bob. Meanwhile, John recently revealed that the storyline of season 2 of his new series, Big Shot, was inspired by the meaningful legacy Saget left behind.

It is also worth noting that nostalgia over the original series has led to sky-high ratings for Full House, which means Saget still makes an impact on fans all over the world.
