Hallmark Channel has revealed details of the latest Mahogany movie, Sense & Sensibility. The new, original movie stars Deborah Ayorinde, Dan Jeannotte, Bethany Antonia and Akil Largie and premieres as part of the network’s Loveuary and Jane Austen programming event.

Mahogany movie Sense & Sensibility on Hallmark Channel
According to the official synopsis, the Hallmark movie Sense & Sensibility airs as part of the network’s Loveuary Jane Austen programming event. The movie is one of four new movies in the network event which honors the author’s timeless legacy.
The movie is set in Regency-era England and features original costumes by Kara Saun (Project Runway) and hair designs by Kim Kimble (Euphoria). Moreover, historian Vanessa Riley (Island Queen) serves as a historical consultant.
The story follows the Dashwood women, following the loss of their family patriarch. They are forced to leave their home for a modest cottage in Devonshire. Meanwhile, the pragmatic eldest daughter, Elinor (Ayorinde) falls for the equally pragmatic gentleman, Edward Ferrars (Jeannotte).
Moreover, her passionate sister, Marianne (Antonia) spurs the advances of their new neighbor, Colonel Brandon (Largie) for the more exciting John Willoughby (Victor Hugo). When Elinor and Marianne’s romantic prospects don’t turn out as they hoped, each sister learns to embrace the other’s approach to matters of the heart.

Deborah Ayorinde, who plays Elinor, is known for her role in the terrifying seies, Them. She has also starred in Luke Cage and Harriet. Meanwhile, Bethany Antonia, who is in the role of Marianne, has previously starred in House of the Dragon and Stay Close.
Actor Dan Jeannotte, who plays Edward Ferrars, is known for The Royal Nanny. Moreover, Akil Largie, who plays Colonel Brandon, has previously starred in The Sandman and to Boy in the Corner. Victor Hugo, who plays John Willoughby, is known for his roles in Riches.
Susan Lawson-Reynolds (Luther: The Fallen Sun, Three Little Birds, Suspicion) and Beth Angus (Princess Mirror-Belle) star in so far, uncredited roles in the movie. Meanwhile, Carlyss Peer (The Crown, Dalgliesh) is also uncredited, as is Daniel Boyd (Horizon, Brave New World).

The new, original adaptation of Sense and Sensibility hails from B.U.F.O. LTD and Tia A. Smith serves as executive producer. Meanwhile, producers are Jeff Beach, Philip Roth and Kristina Kambitova. The movie is directed by Roger Bobb from a script penned by Tim Huddleston, based on the novel by Jane Austen.
