Hallmark Movies spoilers and updates reveal Peyton Meyer is returning and taking his first step after Days of Our Lives with a fresh Hallmark film.
The actor, known for portraying Doug Williams’ (Bill Hayes) namesake and grandson Doug Williams III, will star in Kentucky Roses, which is scheduled to debut on May 2, 2026, on the Hallmark Channel and will be available for streaming the following day on Hallmark+.
This Movie Is A Collaboration With Churchill Downs Racetrack
Hallmark Media has collaborated with Churchill Downs Racetrack to create an exciting new original film. This movie was shot on location at the legendary site of the Kentucky Derby, which adds to its charm.
The talented cast features Andrew Walker, Odette Annable, Ally Ledford, Brynn Thayer, Gregg Henry, and, of course, the charismatic Peyton Meyer in the role of Lefty.
This film pays tribute to the grandeur, traditions, and the lasting spirit of the Derby, intertwining elements of romance, family drama, and a hint of historical significance into a captivating story.
Our guess would be that Peyton’s character, Lefty, is more than likely a jockey, although Hallmark has not yet specified, all that has been released is a trailer with Andrew Walker.
Two Distinct Timelines Are Woven Together In This Storyline, Centered Around The Racetrack
Kentucky Roses intricately weaves together two distinct timelines, one set in the present day and the other in 1932, both centered around the iconic Churchill Downs.
In the contemporary storyline, we meet Sadie Moore (Odette Annable), who toils away in the greenhouse, nurturing her dream of becoming a florist and playing a part in the Derby’s renowned garland of roses, just as her great-grandmother Gloria (Ally Ledford) once did.
As the excitement of Derby Day draws near, Sadie encounters Ash Taylor (Andrew Walker), the son of the CEO of Churchill Downs, who is busy overseeing urgent repairs on the Twin Spires following a storm.
Their chemistry is undeniable, yet their emerging romance is complicated by a long-hidden family secret. This tale unfolds as a poignant love story from the past that has the potential to echo in the present.
Days Of Our Lives Fans Should Remember Peyton Meyer For Playing Doug Williams lll
“Hallmark Media and Churchill Downs are both esteemed legacy brands, each boasting a rich history that spans over a century,” stated Jessica Callahan, the Vice President at Hallmark Media.
“We are absolutely delighted to collaborate in presenting audiences with an uplifting narrative that celebrates community, bravery, and cherished traditions that have stood the test of time.”
The production of Kentucky Roses was completed last year and is set to offer fans a delightful blend of romance, family dynamics, and the exhilarating atmosphere of Derby Day.
Of course, everything is all infused with Hallmark’s signature charm. Days of Our Lives fans will surely recall Peyton Meyer from his memorable portrayal of Doug the third during the 2024-2025 season.
