If you’re a fan of the Hallmark Mystery movies then you’re in for a treat. The holiday juggernaut is presenting a new offering in the form of “The Case of Mystery Lane”, brand new film! In a recent interview, the stars Aimee Garcia and Paul Campbell discussed just what they liked about the new film in question.
If you’re wondering where you may have seen these guys before, Garcia was previously on Lucifer and Campbell was in the movie “Death by Listening”, but if you hang around the Hallmark channel, he is apparently a hunky staple. Ahem.
Hallmark Channel – Let’s Meet The Cases
The two portray Birdie and Alden Case, a married couple who, at first glance, seem to have nothing in common except for their common goal of solving murders. Yet, in this movie they are exploring the prospect of falling in love with their significant other all over again.
Even though at this point they’ve been together for years, it’s more about the little things involved in their relationship than the huge, epic murder mystery looming over their heads. Garcia thinks that the couple’s stark differences is also part of the reason for their deep love for one another.
Hallmark Channel – As quirky As They Want To Be
Campbell echoes her sentiment in the interview with The Laughing Place, saying that he really loves the character of Alden and how authentic the characters are and how they can just be themselves around one another and be quirky as they want to be.
Quite a refreshing take on a subject that might quickly become stale in the wrong hands. It’s hard to write couples who are, well, blissfully wed. There’s always some sort of tension, be it comedic or fraught with life or death circumstances, usually with the stakes of the relationship itself on the line, but not here.
Hallmark Channel – A Happy, Relatable Couple? What’s That?
Here, it seems these two have the actual relationship part under control rather it’s the outside circumstances that they’re faced with that are extraordinary.
It’s not all that often a couple’s relationship can stand up to investigating a murder, even the best and most healthy of relationships would find that taxing.
However, maybe it is their differences that keep them grounded enough to realize that at the end of the day they are still with the person they love.
Which, if you’re a happily married person is a lot more relatable than say, a couple that is sniping at each other because one of them forgot to do the dishes or take out the trash.
While that does indeed happen a lot, it’s refreshing to see that this on-screen couple seems to have avoided these pitfalls – at least so far. We’ll see how the Cases of Mystery Lane plays out. Stay tuned!!!
