Hallmark viewers have a special treat in store as the network is planning a special event night on Sunday, March 26, 2023. In fact, it announced on Tuesday that its new series, Ride, will premiere along with the finale episode of The Way Home season 1. If Ride turns out to be equally successful, It doesn’t get much better than that!
Special The Way Home and Ride event on Hallmark Channel
It’s time to start looking forward to a special event on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, March 26, 2023. That evening, viewers will get to enjoy a double dose of primetime drama. First, there is the highly anticipated season finale of the critically-acclaimed, multigenerational family drama The Way Home. It is important to note that the series finale will air at an earlier time slot of 8 pm ET on Hallmark Channel.
As a reminder, The Way Home stars Andie MacDowell (Maid, Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove) as the senior member of the family. Meanwhile, Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy, Supergirl) plays her daughter, and Sadie Laflamme-Snow (The Apprentice) is the youngest member of the family. They also star along with Evan Williams (Blonde, Versailles).
The series, which premiered on Sunday, January 15, has already become a runaway hit for Hallmark Channel. In fact, with its first three episodes, The Way Home has already become cable’s No. 1 program.
Premiere of new series, Ride
Following that, the new, original drama series, Ride, will premiere at 9 pm ET on Hallmark. Meanwhile, this series is very different from The Way Home. The new series follows the intertwined lives of a rodeo family dynasty.
The series stars Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing, The Kominsky Method), Beau Mirchoff (Hidden Gems, Good Trouble) and Tiera Skovbye (Nurses, Riverdale). Also starring are Sara Garcia (The Flash, Reign), Tyler Jacob Moore (Shameless, Barry) and Jake Foy (A Little Daytime Drama, Designated Survivor).
The new, multigenerational family series follows the lives of the McMurrays, who are part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation. Meanwhile, the family is struggling to keep its beloved ranch. While that might sound a little like the Paramount series, Yellowstone, Ride is definitely a different kind of drama series.
Hallmark’s synopsis for Ride reads as follows:
After a tragic loss, each character embarks on an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery while also uncovering a twisted web of secrets, threatening to tear the family and their small Colorado town apart at the seams.
As a reminder, the finale episode of The Way Home will air an hour early on Sunday, March 26, at 8 pm ET. Following this, Ride will premiere at 9 pm ET.
