Good Witch star Catherine Bell ‘not evacuating’ over Hurricane Milton
Catherine Bell is famous for her role in the hugely popular series Good Witch and has also recently starred in a popular Hallmark movie, Christmas on Cherry Lane. As AP reported on Monday that Hurricane Milton had become a Category 5 storm, it was predicted that it would make landfall in the Tampa region of Florida on Wednesday and would weaken slightly before coming ashore.
Due to this, other US states could breathe a sigh of relief as it looked like those affected by the hurricane would be spared this time. However, hurricanes are known for being unpredictable and can change course in a moment.
Bell said the hurricane was not ‘good’ but she is in a ‘safe spot’
After Hurricane Helene, Catherine updated her followers on an Instagram story, explaining that her home near Clearwater Beach wasn‘t hit by major damage or flooding. She explained that she doesn’t live near the beach or flood zone and was confident she would be OK.
However, in another Story posted on October 7, she seemed concerned about Hurricane Milton. She wrote, that the hurricane was “not good” but that they were staying put and were preparing for the storm, adding:
I’m usually of the mindset these weakness or move far away and never as projected. But this one is REAL. I’m in a safe spot so we’re not evacuating. I have a whole house generator, getting extra food and water today.
Meanwhile, Clearwater Beach is about a one-hour drive from Tampa. AP reported on Tuesday that the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport would close after the last flight on Tuesday.
Bell went on to encourage any followers living in a flood zone to evacuate, mentioning she still needed to check her generator.
“Everyone in this path please be safe!! Evacuate in flood zones! We got this guys.”
Hurricane Idalia flooded Catherine Bell’s home
Back in late August 2023, Bell’s home was flooded by Hurricane Idalia. She posted about her preparations at the time, saying she lived four feet above sea level. Despite that, the storm left the Good Witch star’s home with five inches of floodwater.
“Every room … it’s all gutted now,” Bell wrote, adding, “Finding a temporary place to live.”
