Signed, Sealed, Delivered star Eric Mabius was recently interviewed by an Australian TV series about the possibility of a new movie on Hallmark. However, fans quickly took his words as teasing a new, upcoming film in the movie series. Once he realized that his words had been taken out of context, he quickly headed to social media to explain.
Eric Mabius on potential Signed, Sealed, Delivered movie
POstables were understandably thrilled when they believed that Signed, Sealed, Delivered star Eric Mabius teased a new movie in the series. As fans know, few mystery series are currently coming from Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. However, due to the rumors that spread in a recent interview with an Australian TV show, he quickly explained the situation on his social media.
According to Mabius on Tuesday, his words were taken out of context in the print article with EXTRA TODAY. Heading to Twitter, Eric wrote, “Apologies if my interview with EXTRA TODAY was taken out of context in this print article. I was only speaking in the general about another possible movie. Repeat, there is NOTHING definitive as of right now.”
What was the interview about?
Recently, Mabius was interviewed on the Australian TV show, Today Extra. In the interview, he mentioned the upcoming 25th anniversary of Cruel Intentions. However, then, one of the interviewers mentions the Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies.
A Twitter post shared by a POstable revealed the words, “New movie coming,” along with a video of the interview.
In the clip, the interviewer mentioned that the long-running Signed, Sealed, Delivered series was first released in 2013. Mabius was then asked, “Will there be another one?”
Mabius paused briefly at this point of the interview, then said, “There is.” He continued, saying:
And what a wonderful project. Martha Williamson, the one who created ‘Touched by an Angel,’ has had a great run… It’s just brilliant because it’s a mixture of romance and comedy and heartfelt intent without being syrupy.
His words did, indeed, seem to confirm another movie in the much-loved Hallmark series. However, he wasn’t confirming a new film and he didn’t say they are going to make one now. In fact, the most important detail in his correction post was that the series hasn’t been canceled, unlike the Mystery 101 movies. That alone is good news for POstables, however, no plans have been made to release another movie “right now.”
Mystery fans will recall that recently, Kristoffer Polaha and Jill Wagner both confirmed the cancelation of Mystery 101. It seems that if a mystery movie series is about to get canceled, its stars would let their fans know.
