This week revealed some news about Hallmark star Jill Wagner that could possibly give her time to make the eighth Mystery 101 movie. Now fans are wondering if Hallmark Channel will take advantage of the break.

Possible 8th Mystery 101 on Hallmark?

One big piece of news came earlier this week that Jill Wagner’s new series, Lioness, was getting a new showrunner while delaying production. Meanwhile, the new showrunner is none other than Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan. In fact, he is co-creating the series with Hallmark alum Wagner.

However, the big news according to Variety is that although the work in the writing room is done, production is not set to start until September. Previously, production had been slated for June and, in fact, Wagner even got a drastic hairdo, cutting it short for the role. Moreover, Jill even showed off her new “do.” This made it seem sure they were about to start production.

This means the latest production change on Lioness must have happened recently. On top of this, Sheridan still has a busy schedule, including filming season 5 of Yellowstone. Moreover, he is also busy preparing for the production of the show’s spinoffs. This could certainly cause the two-month production change.

What about Hallmark’s 8th Mystery 101 movie?

With all this delay, could this give Hallmark Channel the window it needs to film the eighth Mystery 101 movie? Fans have been waiting impatiently since September 2021 to hear news of the next installment, especially after that cliffhanger in Deadly History.

Meanwhile, screenwriter John Christian Plummer was recently interviewed on the Deck the Hallmark podcast. In that interview, he revealed that the script for the eighth movie is all ready to go.

In early June, Mystery 101 star Kristoffer Polaha was interviewed by Metacritic and the conversation went to the Hallmark mystery series. He did say he had spoken to Wagner about the series and they were originally going to start filming in November. After that, filming was postponed to January and now, the filming date is unknown. However, while he did, at least, say it hasn’t been canceled.

Polaha comments on a tweet, giving hope

As noted by TV Shows Ace, since that interview, something has happened that could give Mystery 101 fans hope. On June 14, a fan headed to Twitter and wrote, “So @hallmarkmovie are we ever going to find out what happened between Amy and Travis in #Mystery101 or nah? @KrisPolaha @JillWagner.”

The following day, Kristoffer replied, writing simply, “I think we will.”

Basically, it seems to be a matter of “When?” Hopefully, with the delay on Lioness, Hallmark will make use of that time to bring fans the eighth Mystery 101 movie.
