Hallmark Star Mamie Laverock Is Finally Home From Hospital After Fall

Back in May, shocking news revealed that When Calls the Heart star, Mamie Laverock, had a devastating fall from a five-story balcony. Since that time, Mamie has been recovering in the hospital, but at last, Mamie has returned home on August 19. Her family posted a video on her Facebook page to show her returning home.

In a video posted by Mamie Laverock’s family on her Facebook page on August 19 showed the moment she returned home. After suffering serious injuries in the balcony fall in May, she is now well enough to go home.

In the clip, family and friends can be seen holding welcome signs around the ambulance that carried Mamie home. As the ambulance doors open, a smiling Laverock can be seen on a stretcher.

In a second post on Facebook, photos were shared of a sign reading “Home Sweet Home.” Moreover, a cake with a rainbow-shaped balloon display had the caption, “Dreams do come true. Welcome Home, Mamie.”

About Mamie’s accident

Mamie, 20, was first taken to a Winnipeg hospital on May 11 by her mother, Nicole Compton. According to a GoFundMe page launched by her family, she had suffered a “medical emergency.” Laverock was later transferred to a Vancouver hospital, where her parents, Nicole and Rob Compton said her recovery was unclear at that time, but that she was alive and showing signs of improvement. Moreover, the Comptons said Mamie’s healing process could take some time.

Fast forward two weeks and Mamie’s parents announced she was escorted from a secure unit in the hospital and taken to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.

The Comptons wrote:

She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support. We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.

I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this 🙏♥️ #hearties

Meanwhile, Laverock’s When Calls the Heart onscreen family started promoting the GoFundMe while campaigning for her recovery. Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s mother on the show wrote on X/Twitter, writing, “I love this family, my heart is broken. The WCTH star further wrote:

A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.

The Laverock’s GoFundMe raised almost 40,000 CAD ($29,000) in support of Mamie’s recovery.

When the GoFundMe closed, Laverock herself posted a warm thank you to the many people who made donations, writing:

Thank you so much, I don’t even know what to say. My heart is full. Thank you again. I have no words to describe my gratitude. Love you guys. Thank you. MAMIE.

Mamie stars in the series as a nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan, alongside Erin Krakow, Jack Wagner, Newmarch, Kavan Smith, Pascale Hutton and Ava Grace Cooper.
