When Hallmark Channel released Ride in 2013 it received a good following from fans. However, fans were quickly disappointed when the feel-good channel canceled the series after only one season.
It turns out it isn’t only fans that are upset by the rodeo-centric show’s cancelation. In a recent interview, Marcus Rosner, 34, opened up about plans that would allow him to play his character, Austin McMurray, again. Moreover, he even has ideas about a movie that would be perfect for Hallmark.
Marcus Rosner on the Hallmark Channel series Ride
Speaking with Us Weekly, Rosner teased his idea for a prequel movie that would allow him to share screen time with Tiera Skovbye again. Fans will recall that the Hallmark star’s character died offscreen and only appeared in flashbacks.
Us Weekly interviewed Rosner about his latest Hallmark role – the Christmas rom-com, Falling Like Snowflakes. He also said, “I love those characters … because I’m one of them.”
“I would love to pitch Hallmark on doing an Austin and Tiera [Skovbye]’s character, Missy,” he said, adding:
I would love to do, like, a prequel Christmas movie set on the ranch or something and show the good times with them.
If the project goes ahead, this will allow Marcus to have a larger role as Austin McMurray. He also explained that he and Skovbye became fairly close in the series, saying, “I would definitely love to do something with her [again].” He also noted that he would also like to work with Sara Garcia again.
“Then Sara Garcia. I cast her in a rom-com last year. We did a Christmas movie under my company. She was fantastic in that. So [I] have worked with Sarah and I would love to work with Tiera.”
Rosner’s role in Hallmark’s Ride
The Hallmark series Ride premiered in March 2023 and followed the McMurray family as they fought to keep their Colorado ranch. Moreover, the family was overcome by the loss of Austin (Rosner’s character).
The family’s Matriarch Isabel (Nancy Travis) runs the ranch along with her two remaining sons, Cash (Beau Mirchoff) and Tuff (Jake Foy), as well as her daughter-in-law Missy.
As for Hallmark fans, they no doubt would love to see Marcus’ character, Austin in more than just flashbacks.
