Hallmark Subtly Makes Changes That Could Affect How Viewers Watch Content

Hallmark news and updates tease that viewers could expect changes to the content from the network. Hallmark Media, home of the best comfort series, such as When Calls The Heart and the classic Golden Girls, made management changes at the start of 2023 after appointing Emily Powers as the Vice President of Streaming and Digital Platforms and Stefanie Nimick as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Content Distribution and Platform Marketing.

With these new designations, it’s clear that Hallmark Media is expanding its viewership and adapting to the new era of streaming and digital content.

Hallmark  Spoilers – Emily Powers’ role

According to Hallmark Media’s press release, Emily Powers’ appointment is the start of their move to expand their distribution model when it comes to digital platforms, which includes mobile, website, and e-commerce initiatives.

Hallmark Media CEO Sonya Lucas said, “Her expertise is particularly important at this stage in our company’s evolution, as the industry continues to shift in the direction of streaming and digital distribution.”

Emily Powers was the Chief Revenue Officer of BritBox before joining Hallmark Media. She also had a part in NBC Universal’s and BBC Studios’ digital distribution and business development. According to her LinkedIn, Powers attended Georgetown University and NYU Stern School of Business.

Hallmark  Spoilers – Stefanie Nimick’s role

Another Hallmark Media press release announced the designation of Stefanie Nimick. According to the statement, Nimick will be responsible for the management of the company’s strategic plans, including content distribution to linear and digital partners, among others.

Hallmark Media Executive Vice President of Distribution and Content Strategy Judi Lopez said, “She is a seasoned leader with an outstanding track record of driving growth and revenue. As our company continues to elevate our distribution strategies, we value her fresh ideas, expertise in leading high-performing teams, and passion for advancing our business roadmap.”

Nimick was the Senior Vice President of Starz before joining Hallmark Media. She also previously worked with Fuse Media, AMC Networks, and Fox Cable Networks, per her LinkedIn profile.

Hallmark Spoilers – Media Evolution

Hallmark Media patrons may expect changes in the future. Hallmark Media series is largely available on cable, but as media consumption progressed into video-on-demand, the company has evolved to streaming and other media distribution methods.

With these new designations and a recent partnership with Peacock, the company is leaning towards the evolution of its streaming platforms and digital distribution. The company has an existing streaming video service Hallmark Movies Now (previously known as SpiritClips and Feeln), which was relaunched in 2017, with its first original series, When Hope Calls.
