As fans wait for the new Hallmark Channel series, The Way Home, Andie MacDowell rocked a natural look at the show’s premiere. In fact, she displayed a beautiful head of silver ringlets and a beaded suit at the series premiere in New York City on Wednesday.
Andie MacDowell flaunts silver hair at The Way Home premiere
Groundhog Day star Andie MacDowell is starring in a new family drama series, The Way Home, on Hallmark Channel. When she attended the official series premiere in New York on Wednesday, she proudly displayed her natural silver curls. The Maid star, 64, wowed onlookers with her natural hair color and a beautiful beaded suit, an off-white turtleneck and classic black high heels.
Meanwhile, the upcoming Hallmark series chronicles three generations of a family after a woman reunites with her mother after a long estrangement. In fact, she stars with Chyler Leigh and Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who were also looking beautiful at the premiere.
‘More comfortable’ with a natural look
In this modern world where stars maintain their looks via beauty treatments and plastic surgery, Andie prefers to be natural. The Daily Mail quotes MacDowell as saying she feels “more comfortable” with her natural look. In fact, she admitted that she really likes it. In fact, the Four Weddings and a Funeral star said she would rather age naturally, adding, “I truly want to be where I am and look my age.”
Speaking to The Times recently, Andie said she felt relief after the positive response she received for embracing a natural gray-haired look, saying:
I was relieved people weren’t cruel. They could have been mean to me. But everybody was very loving and kind and I was relieved because I really like it. I feel more comfortable.
In fact, she also revealed that she chose to go natural despite being told not to do so after those around her strongly advised against it. Andie said:
People kept saying to me, ‘It’s not time,’ but I disagreed. I was kowtowing to everybody else’s beliefs, but I truly want to be where I am and look my age.
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2021, The Way Home star explained that her daughters thought she looked like a “bada**.”
Moreover, the Hallmark star did consider cosmetic surgery on her “droopy eyelids,” but she was told they were “perfect.” In the Times interview, MacDowell joked, saying, “Don’t look at yourself in a bad light, adding:
I just don’t have very many mirrors around. The ones in my bathrooms all have great lighting.
The new family drama series, The Way Home, premieres on Hallmark Channel on January 15 at 9 pm ET.
