Hallmark’s New Dating Reality Series ‘Small Town Setup’ Hosted by Ashley Williams

Hallmark Channel News reveals at the TCA (Television Critics Association) summer 2024 presser, the new streaming channel Hallmark Plus was announced.

In addition to revealing the rebranded streamer, there was also exciting news about upcoming reality shows; among them is Small Town Set Up, which will be hosted by Ashley Williams.

Get ready for a heartwarming twist on reality television with the upcoming series Small Town Setup, hosted by Ashley Williams.

Scheduled to debut in 2025, this unscripted romantic comedy docu-style dating series follows the journey of successful adult children living in big cities who are still single, dismaying their hometown parents.

Each episode features a different set of parents seeking help from their neighbors to find the perfect match for their adult child.

The entire community comes together to select the top three potential suitors for the ‘city single,’ hoping to spark a love connection that will bring them a happily ever after. Get ready to witness the power of small-town matchmaking in action!

Hallmark Channel News: Is Ashley Channeling Her Inner Kelly Ripa?

Ashley Williams recently unveiled her new Hallmark+ project on Instagram, revealing that this has been a long-time dream of hers. While it was initially a secret, her closest friends were aware of her desire to emulate Kelly Ripa; Ashley even had the chance to meet her idol in person.

“I’ve always wanted to be a host-my ‘Inner Kelly Ripa’ was something I kept to myself, but my friends knew and would tease me about it. They once even dragged me to her birthday party and made me confess that she was my hero, and Kelly Ripa laughed and hugged me, just like she does.”

However, Ashley hasn’t revealed if she ever wanted a role on “All My Children”, the past ABC soap where Kelly got her start, and met her husband Mark Consuelos.

Hallmark Channel News: Ashley’s Other Hallmark Creation-“Make Her Mark”

Many fans recognize Ashley Williams from Hallmark romantic comedies or “How I Met Your Mother”, but she is also a skilled director. She is the mastermind behind Hallmark’s Make Her Mark program, which pairs a female director with another female director for mentoring. The inaugural participant in this initiative is Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, star of “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”.

Interestingly, despite directing films for other networks like Lifetime Movie Network, Ashley has not yet directed one for Hallmark. Hopefully, when she’s not busy playing matchmaker on “Small Town Setup”, she’ll have the chance to do so.
