Hallmark’s When Calls The Heart Season 10: What We Know So Far

It took Hallmark Channel a while to announce season 10 of When Calls the Heart. As Hearties know, there are still many stories to tell in Hope Valley, but for a while there, things seemed uncertain. This is due to the fact that Hallmark appeared to move away from long-running scripted movie series.

On Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, there were cancelations of Picture Perfect Murders, Matchmaker Mysteries and Hailey Dean Mysteries. Moreover, Hallmark had announced that season 6 of the popular series, Chesapeake Shores would be the last. However, the good news is that the network did renew When Calls the Heart for a tenth season. But what do we know so far about the upcoming season 10?

What we know about season 10 of When Calls the Heart

While it was later than usual, Hallmark Channel officially renewed When Calls the Heart for a tenth season on July 17, 2022. At the time, Erin Krakow, who stars and executive produces the series, wrote: “I am thrilled that When Calls the Heart is coming back for a tenth season,” adding:

With our amazing cast, crew, and talented writers, we can look forward to more adventures, laughs, tears, and stories of romance throughout the community of Hope Valley. We are so excited for all the viewers, especially the Hearties, to continue this journey with us!

The star who plays Elizabeth Thatcher in the popular drama series added that she was feeling very grateful and happy. She also said she is “very proud” and excited to get to spend more time in Hope Valley with all of these people she really cares about, adding:

It’s just mind-blowing to think about a decade of When Calls the Heart. It’s really pretty amazing. I’m really happy.

Meanwhile, Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive VP of programming at Hallmark Media Family Networks also made a statement. She said that the series continues to push the limits as to what can be achieved with this show, adding:

There are many more stories still to be told about the lives of the beloved characters in this series and we cannot wait for everyone at home to tune in to see what unfolds.

When can we expect season 10 of When Calls the Heart to air?

Meanwhile, filming for season 10 started on Monday, July 27, 2022, with production wrapping in mid-November. However, while filming is complete, there is no news of the premiere date for the tenth season.

As noted by Matt & Jess, the new season is unlikely to premiere in February, despite the fact that several seasons have dropped in that month. Meanwhile, season 9 premiered in March 2022 and it seems likely that season 10 will do the same.

What’s coming in season 10 of When Calls the Heart

While no official synopsis has been released regarding the storylines in the tenth season of When Calls the Heart, certain stories are set to continue. For instance, after the touching proposal scene in the last season, the romance between Lucas (Chris McNally) and Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) is sure to continue. In the meantime, she continues to handle single parenthood of little Jack (Hyland Goodrich).

Moreover, Hearties will likely learn what is ailing Bill (Jack Wagner) and how serious his continuing cough is. Meanwhile, the Coulter pregnancy and its related drama is sure to continue. We are also likely to learn more about the future of the oil company, foundry and mines. As there are still a number of singles in Hope Valley, it is possible new romances could emerge in season 10.
