It Began On Hallmark Movies Now

When Hope Calls first aired in 2019 and actually got its beginning on Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now. The first season was a hit and people fell in love with it, just like they did with When Calls the Heart. However, the show remained in limbo for a long time. In fact, no renewal or cancelation announcement was made and it would be two years before fans received an update.

Viewers will be able to continue watching the character’s journey as season 2 has finally been confirmed.

Is When Hope Calls On The Hallmark Channel?

Even though When Hope Calls is a product of the Crown Media group, it didn’t originally air on the Hallmark Channel. At the time that new episodes were being released, fans needed to subscribe to Hallmark Movies now for a monthly fee.

With that being said, the Hallmark Channel did air the entire first season not too long ago. It happened around the time that season 2 was announced.

How To Watch When Calls The Heart Spinoff

Regarding When Hope Calls season 2, it won’t be airing on the Hallmark Channel or its streaming services, Hallmark Movies Now. Instead, it will have a new home with a competing network: GAC Family. The network rebranded and was formerly known as Great American Country. Fans will be able to see the season 2 premiere on Sunday, December 18, 2021 at 8 pm ET.

According to Futon Critic, the synopsis for the TV show is as follows:

“When Hope Calls is set in Brookfield, a town on the western prairie with a deep sense of acceptance, love, and family, and is a TV spinoff of award-winning author Janette Oke’s novel series, When Calls the Heart. In the World Premiere of When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, Part 1, a Christmas festival worthy of Harper’s Bazaar happens in Brookfield as the community is one of three contenders in the magazine’s search for America’s #1 Country Christmas Town. The entire town is preoccupied with creating the essence of Christmas for the photojournalist’s lens, though, behind the scenes, residents are not living the spirit of the season. In the midst of the fuss, a stagecoach appears, and out steps Abigail Stanton (Lori Loughlin) and her son, Cody [Stanton, played by Carter Ryan] who have brought a troubled boy to Lillian’s [Walsh, played by Morgan Kohan] orphanage.”
