Mid-Love Crisis on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Teri Hatcher and James Tupper lead the new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie Mid-Love crisis, set to premiere this fall. The pair stars as former high school sweethearts, while Brian Markinson, June Laporte and Matreya Scarrwener also star.

Hatcher is in the role of Mindy, a single mom approaching her 50th birthday and realizes she is in the throes of a bona fide mid-life crisis. She goes away on a long weekend at her family’s lake house with her daughter, Rita (Laporte) and Rita’s girlfriend, Emily (Scarrwener). While there, Mindy is surprisingly reunited with her former, high school boyfriend. Sam (Tupper) is Emily’s uncle who she hasn’t spoken to in three decades.

While Rita plans to surprise Emily with a proposal, she tells her mom she wants her dad to join them. This leads to Mindy’s two exes being under one roof. As the weekend progresses, assertiveness awakens in Mindy, who finds herself not only embracing life but finding out what it is she truly wants while preparing for the next chapter.

Hallmark Media’s senior vice president of programming, Elizabeth Yost spoke about the upcoming movie. She said Teri Hatcher has both impeccable comedic timing as well as the ability to play dramatic roles. This made the actress the perfect choice to play Mindy. She added:

About the cast of Mid-Love Crisis

As mentioned, Teri Hatcher plays the role of Mindy, who is best known for her portrayals of Lois Lane on the TV series, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She also starred as Paris Carver in the James Bond movie, Tomorrow Never Dies. Moreover, Teri starred as Susan Mayer on the TV series, Desperate Housewives from 2004 to 2012.

Meanwhile, James Tupper plays Sam and is known for his role as Jack Slattery on the ABC show Men in Trees. He also starred as Dr. Chris Sands on the NBC medical drama, Mercy, and as David Clarke on ABC’s Revenge. Moreover, Tupper starred in the post-apocalyptic thriller Aftermath on SyFy.

June Laporte, who plays Emily’s daughter, Rita, starred in You Can Live Forever and The Dropout. Brian Markinson has starred in a number of films and TV shows, including the U.S. Attorney General in Shooter, an unscrupulous industrialist in Godzilla and a supporting role in Angels in America. Matreva Scarrwener plays Rita’s friend and is known for her guest starring roles in The Killing, The Haunting Hour and Spooksville. She was also a series regular in the ABC comedy Imaginary Mary.
