Dog lovers have plenty to look forward to in Hallmark’s holiday movie, The Finnish Line. Premiering as part of the network’s Countdown to Christmas 2024, the movie stars the Bold and the Beautiful alum Kim Matula, Beau Mirchoff, Nichole Sakura and a pack of huskies.

The Finnish Line on Hallmark Channel
According to the Futon Critic, The Finnish Line is a dogsledding adventure up in the Arctic with loads of snow and cute huskies. The plot sees Anya (Kim Matula) hoping to follow in her late father’s footsteps by participating in the 40th annual Joulurauha race in Finland. This was her father’s last race and he lost it. However, Anya wants to keep his memory alive, Anya is determined to win this race.
However, after her lead dog gets injured during the qualifying race, she needs to find another and she finds one, owned by Cole (Beau Mirchoff) a former racer. When Cole finds her story interesting, he joins her to write about the race. Meanwhile, Anya faces many obstacles in the race including beating her father’s rival. Will she overcome the challenges and win the race?
Where have you seen the cast before?
Matula plays Anya and is known for her roles in The Bold and the Beautiful and UnREAL. She leads opposite Mirchoff, who has starred in I Am Number Four and Scary Movie 4. Sakura, who plays and uncredited role, has previously been seen in Until Dawn and Model Minority.
According to the movie’s IMDb page, the other cast includes Benedict Gröndal (Happily Never After, Ordinary People) as Lavi and Arnar Dan Kristjánsson (Noah, Natatorium) as Beckett Turtledove. Meanwhile, Tinna Björt Guðjónsdóttir (Where Is She Now, Sisterhood) is in the role of Nitaro.
Where was The Finnish Line filmed?
The new, original Hallmark movie, The Finnish Line, was filmed in Iceland and Finnish Lapland. Fans of Christmas movies will get to see Rovaniemi in Finland, the home of the iconic Santa Claus Village.
Moreover, the Arctic Circle is a prime location for the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) which could appear in the movie.

The Finnish Line is set to premiere on Sunday, December 1, at 6 pm ET/PT on the Hallmark Channel. Peacock subscribers can also watch the movie up to 72 hours after its premiere.
