This coming weekend, Lacey Chabert stars in the new, original movie, Haul Out The Holly on Hallmark Channel. The festive comedy forms part of the network’s Countdown to Christmas programming event. Read on to find out more about this fun movie, its plot, cast and premiere details.
Haul Out The Holly on Hallmark Channel
According to the official synopsis, Emily (Lacey Chabert) arrives home, hoping to visit her parents. However, she finds out they are leaving on a trip of their own. Emily decides to stay at their house for the holidays, wanting to just relax and watch Christmas movies. However, the people in the cul-de-sac are Christmas-crazy and finally rope her in with many of the neighborhood’s Christmas festivities, including the Christmas Cookie Contest.
In a recent interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, she was prompted to talk about her new, upcoming Christmas project, Haul Out The Holly. Lacey explained the basic plot of the festive comedy, saying:
Well, my character goes home, hoping to just relax and be home for Christmas, watch Christmas movies and do nothing Christmas related in the neighborhood.
Lacey explains that where her character is from, the HOA of the cul-de-sac is crazy about Christmas. She said “They go all out,” adding:
She gets, you know, pulled into the activities, and this is the first time I’ve done a Christmas movie that’s a comedy.
Chabert noted that the movie has a wonderful cast, including Melissa Peterman, Wes Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, Ellen Travolta, Peter Jacobson and more, adding:
These amazing people that just made me laugh all day.
About the cast of the festive Hallmark movie
According to the official IMDb page for the movie, Lacey Chabert (The Wedding Veil, Mean Girls, Groundswell) plays Emily. Other major cast includes Melissa Peterman (Fargo, Running With Scissors), Jake Stormoen (The Outpost, Extinct, Mythica: A Quest for Heroes) and Peter Jacobson (CSI: Miami, Deadwood, Heroes, Californication) in as yet unnamed roles.
Meanwhile, Wes Brown (We Are Marshall, Glory Road, Now and at the Hour) plays Jared and Ellen Travolta (Happy Days, Joanie Loves Chachi, Charles in Charge) plays Mary Louise, Walter Platz (Grandpa’s Crazy?, Switched for Christmas and The American West) plays Bob.
Moreover, Eliza Hayes Maher plays Jessica, two neighbors are played by Alireza Mirmontazeri and John Forker, with Abby Villasmil as Young Emily and Mario DeAngelis as a Tree Lighting Ceremony Attendee.
