Lacey Chabert and Hallmark’s new diversity
While Hallmark Channel’s original movies are popular in many homes over the holidays, the network has received criticism in recent years. Viewers have noticed a lack of religious diversity, Black leads and exclusion of the queer community. However, this has all changed in the latest movies from the network.
While promoting her partnership with Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader, Lacey Chabert recently said she is glad that since 2020, Hallmark Channel is now focusing on more inclusion in its stories.
“I think that Hallmark has done a wonderful job of telling stories that everyone can relate to,” she said, adding, “And I think they continue to try harder and strive to do that even more.”
Lacey went on to say that she enjoys working with the network because their stories are “always centered around love and heart.” Chabert noted that she always tries to bring stories to life that have characters that people can relate to, as well as all the different challenges in life. She added that she believes Hallmark is “expanding on that and telling stories that are deeper.”
Lacey added: “I’m really proud of all of the work I’ve gotten to do with them.”
Hallmark Channel Christmas movies
The popular actor said she believes Hallmark’s Christmas movies are a tradition in viewer’s homes for the holidays because they feel “uplifted” watching them. Lacey added that to be a part of something that “adds a little light in the world” is something she really considers an honor.
Chabert went on to tell Insider about her own holiday traditions. She said these often include a Christmas Eve mini “road trip.” She said “We all pile into the car, grab our hot cocoa, and we go look at Christmas lights,” adding that she is excited to continue the tradition with her five-year-old daughter, Julia.
