Filmed on location in spectacular Iceland, The Christmas Quest airs as part of the popular Countdown to Christmas 2024.

Lacey Chabert and Kristoffer Polaha are starring for the first time together in the new, original movie, The Christmas Quest.

Meanwhile, Lacey’s 15th Christmas movie was filmed on location in Iceland and premieres on December 1 as part of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown To Christmas 2024. Read on to find out more about the movie and its cast and watch a trailer.

The Christmas Quest on Hallmark Channel

According to the official synopsis, the movie, filmed in the breathtaking backdrop of Iceland tells the story of archaeologist Stefanie (Chabert). She embarks on a mission to track down the legendary Treasure of the Yule Lads, a quest that was her late mother’s lifelong dream.

Meanwhile, each of the 13 Yule Lads, or Iceland’s Father Christmas figures, holds clues to the treasure’s location. This compels Stefanie to team up with her former husband, Chase (Polaha), an expert in ancient Norse languages, on the adventure.

As Stefanie and Chase journey through Iceland’s diverse regions, they immerse themselves in the local Christmas traditions. Meanwhile, the pair races against time and rival treasure hunters to unlock the secrets of the treasure before Christmas Day.

Where have you seen the cast before?

Lacey Chabert, who plays Stefanie, has previously starred in A Merry Scottish Christmas and Mean Girls. Kristoffer Polaha, in the role of Chase, is known for his roles in A Biltmore Christmas and Jurassic World Dominion.

According to the official IMDb page for The Christmas Quest, other cast members include Svandis Dora Einarsdottir as the caterer, who has starred in Entrapped and Harry & Heimir.

Meanwhile, Isla McRae plays the role of young Stefanie, who has no screen credits but the young actress will also star in Project Hail Mary which is currently in post-production.

Jóel Sæmundsson stars as Óli Stefánsson and has previously starred in Love On Iceland and Pity the Lovers. Moreover, Þór Tulinius stars as Jón and is known for his roles in Black Sands and Angels of the Universe, while Jóhann Sigurðarson stars as the boat captain and has starred in Woman at War and White Night Wedding.

The new, original movie hails from Synthetic Cinema International and Hero Productions. Chabert, Andrew Gernhard, Kimberley Bradley and Jonathan Eskenas serve as executive products, while the movie is produced by Molly Mayeux, Arnar Knútsson and Búi Baldvinsson. Meanwhile, the movie is directed by Dustin Rikert from a script penned by Marcy Holland and a story by Dustin Rikert and Andrew Gernhard.
