Lacey Chabert On Why She Struggled Filming Netflix Movie Hot Frosty

Lacey Chabert may be Hallmark’s Queen of Christmas, but she is also making waves on Netflix in her new holiday movie, Hot Frosty.

Beloved Mean Girls and Hallmark star Lacey Chabert recently opened up about how she struggled while filming her new Netflix movie, Hot Frosty.

While Lacey has starred in multiple Hallmark Christmas and other movies with no problems on the film set, she has opened up about the issues she had filming that Netflix movie.

While Lacey Chabert has starred in many movies and reality shows with Hallmark Channel and, of course, in Mean Girls, we were surprised to learn that she had problems on the set of the Netflix holiday movie, Hot Frosty.

However, those problems weren’t what you might think, as it turns out the movie was too funny for her to keep things together. Lacey told People:

I’m the worst at not laughing when you’re not supposed to, so there were many a take that I accidentally ruined because I broke and laughed.

Lacey stars as a widow, Kathy, who meets Jack, a snowman she brings to life, played hilariously by Dustin Milligan (Schitt’s Creek). Meanwhile, other stars in the rom-com include Joe Lo Truglio of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Craig Robinson of The Office fame.

Judging by these funny guys, it isn’t hard to understand how Chabert couldn’t stop laughing. Moreover, she wasn’t the only one cracking up on the film set.

Milligan told people:

Our director, Jerry Ciccoritti, encouraged all of us to improvise throughout filming, and even though so much of it never made the final cut, making each other laugh was basically the goal of every day.

Now fans hope a blooper reel is released for Hot Frosty where they can see the giggling in action.

Soon after the movie premiered on Netflix, it shot to the top of the streamer’s charts as the most-streamed movie in the USA. However, the movie isn’t just about comedy, as Lacey’s character is grieving the loss of her husband.

Russell Hainline, the movie’s writer, explained that it was important to have both, telling The Hollywood Reporter:

I think it’s easy to imagine a one-note joke version of the movie that doesn’t approach the premise with sincerity or get the audience to care.
