Loughlin herself is no doubt thrilled that she will be able to revive her career, following her imprisonment in the college admissions scandal. She served two months in prison and on release, was subject to a two-year supervised release. Lori also had to pay a fine of $150,000 and was told to complete 100 hours of community service.

While Loughlin is reprising her role as Abigail Stanton, the Hallmark Channel was quick to make it clear that it is not working with her. The network said in a statement to ET, “Hallmark Channel has not cast Lori Loughlin in any current projects, including ‘When Calls the Heart,’ nor do we have any plans to cast her in the future.”

“She was cast by GAC Family, a wholly separate cable network not affiliated with Hallmark Channel or Crown Media Family Networks,” the statement continued.

Hallmark Channel News – About The College Admissions Scandal

Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, admitted in court that they had paid $500,000 to Rick Singer and the Key Worldwide Foundation. The bribe was to get their daughters Bella, 23, and Olivia Jade, 22, into the University of Southern California as rowing team recruits, despite never having participated in the sport. Giannulli also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a five-month imprisonment, along with a $250,000 file and 250 hours of community service.

Loughlin said at the time that the realization weighs heavily on her. While she wishes she could go back and do things differently, she can only now take responsibility for her actions and move forward. “Your Honor, I’m truly, deeply and profoundly sorry and I’m ready to accept the consequences and make amends. Thank you for your time,” she added.
