Mae Whitman Shares Remarkable Truth About Filming ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas’

The holidays are here, and so is Hallmark Channel’s impressive line-up of all new Christmas movies.  Over the years, Hallmark Christmas movies have become a huge part of the season and are even a part of some families’ holiday traditions. 

This year the network upped the ante and premiered an all new Christmas TV show, along with dozens of new movies for the holiday season.  

‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas’ premiered on the Hallmark Channel on December 5 2025.  The holiday miniseries follows the life of the adorable Kate Tucker. 

The official synopsis for the show reads, “Kate, a textile pattern designer, cares for her separated father Mac in Blexford, England. Laura introduces her to The 12 Dates of Christmas, a matchmaking program that rekindles her life and leads her to new adventures.”

This is Mae Whitman’s first Hallmark Channel project, and she is quickly becoming a fan fave.  Mae’s character Kate has won over the hearts of Hallmark fans and they are already clamoring for more of the character on the network. 

So far ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas’ is a limited holiday series, but considering the show’s popularity there could definitely be more episodes in the future.

Mae Whitman recently revealed that filming ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas’ was actually a life-changing experience for the actress, and she wouldn’t change it for anything. 

What a lot of viewers don’t realize, is Mae had just given birth to her FIRST baby when she traveled across the world to start filming the new TV show.

In a recent interview the Hallmark actress explained, “It’s really a testament to the people of Ireland and the people of this project that I came from a place of such vulnerable, stripped-down rawness, and I feel like I emerged so whole and so held and supported and loved and seen and taken care of. I felt stronger than ever.”
