According to the official synopsis, an American, visiting Bergen, Norway for the first time ends up unraveling a decades-old family mystery. In the process, she falls for an alpine skier, who is facing a career crisis.
Jessica Johnson JJ (Fish) takes a last-minute holiday trip to The Land of the Midnight Sun. It leads the PhD candidate to clues that could just help her solve a decades-old family mystery about a carved troll figurine that her grandmother loved and passed on to her.
While in Bergen, JJ is warmly welcomed and accepted by the family of world-class skier Henrik Strom (Elsendoorn). Henrik has finally returned home after suffering a career-ending injury.
As JJ unravels the mystery of the troll, she discovers a life-changing family secret. Meanwhile, Henrik finally comes to terms with the end of his competitive career.
Love starts blooming between JJ and Henrik just as her holiday trip comes to a close. Now JJ must decide whether to return home to Minneapolis, or finally open her heart to love and a newfound family in Norway.
